The Kristal Hotel as an alternative dining venue on one evening was badly managed and set out; too many people, with long queues for food and too few seating places. The quality of the food was good but the dining experience was spoiled by the points made previously. I was an independent traveller in your hotel but was entirely put off from choosing the Half Board option...not again, sorry.

No fridge in the room. I had booked dinner at the hotel but we were sent in to the hotel close by as no dinner were served at our hotel. The buffé was very crowded and the food/drink rather tasteless. I wanted to pay in cash for our stay with a 500 Euro bill but the staff refused to accept it even though our room/dinner cost around 250 Euro. That was very annoying.

We originally had the reservation at this hotel of the hotel chain, but 1 week after I did the reservation, I got a message, that the hotel will be closed for our period, so we were offered a room in theirs another hotel : in Hotel Istra (under the same condition). So my review is about Hotel Istra and the attitude of the employees of the hotel chain. The location of the hotel is excellent, on the beach and very close to the center. We used the nearby parking garage for parking. The room was very clean and comfortable. The half board was a perfect choice, the food was very delicious. The hotel staff is very polite, attentive and speaks very good English. And what we didn't expect, instead of a simple room, we got a room with a sea view. It was a big surprise! For this I'd like to say thank you! The view was wonderful. If we go to Opatija again, we will choose this hotel again! The hotel is highly recommended.

Everything was neat, clean, the staff at the reception extremely pleasant, the location excellent, the view from the sea side rooms is beautiful, quiet at night, I highly recommend it for a pleasant stay in the off-season.

Unfortunately there was no small fridge or coffee machine in the room. I had sea view but at the side of the hotel so was looking also at the balcony of the neighbors. The dinner quality was low but I also have to say it was very cheap so it was priced appropriately.

The room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was very nice. And friendly staff.

Nice room althoug this one was facing the street oustide so could hear some traffic, but it settled down after 22. Good breakfast in really nice. spatious room facing the riviera. Kind staff!

We enjoyed the location and the ambiance of old world charm. A special note is Franny at the front desk. Her cheerful greeting and willingness to help us made us all feel ‘at home’. Franny should be cloned! She helped us with parking and making reservations for dinner. She was a delight!

When we came safe didn’t work, there was no soap, to get the soap we needed to wait until the morning. Curtains fell on one day, hurt the head. For breakfast we needed to go to another hotel (Crystal), which is communist style hotel , more like a house for retired people. Parking 25 EURO is a rip off

Charming hotel. Very well maintained. Got lovely room with balcony, side sea view. Delicious buffet breakfast with many varieties. In the heart of city Opatija. Staff care a lot about guests wishes.

Nice hotel with a really nice location. Parking are available under a building at 2 min from the hotel for extra cost 23€/day. Indoor Swimming pool with sea water are accessible free of charge in the hotel next to lungomare. Nice staff service, really friendly!!

One day municipality of Opatija town decided to have some work done on beach front if the hotel Noise from machinery was very loud and hotel couldn't do anything about it, that was unpleasent experience

Thank you very much to the administrator, I think her name is Zarina. Arrival from 08/20/2023-08/21/2023. Responsive, friendly, pleasant, despite the fact that we arrived after 12 at night, we did not check in at first because there was no free parking, we went to look for another hotel, and believe me, there is something to compare it with. Here, even after our wanderings, we were welcomed and accommodated. We really liked it, I recommend it! We are in Croatia for the first time, and thanks to her, the impression is simple ❤️. I liked the apartments, number 501 - the view is great, the sea and half of Opatija. The air conditioner works at 200%. The bed is very comfortable, huge, the room also has 2 sofas that fold out and are the size of an airplane landing strip :) My children and I were accommodated like in a royal palace. There is a beach and a cute playground right next to the hotel. The beaches here are all made of concrete, but you can go into the sea on steps and not deep. Breakfast - well done, very tasty, a large selection for different tastes, buffet table. And we have breakfast with a view of the sea. Wait for us again!

A lot of small issues. The windows were not clean on the upper part, full of dead animals, the drain pipe of the wash basin was leaking badly and the ceiling of the bathroom had a bad water stain (fresh) and a mouldy spot. That influenced the odore of the room, of course. No fridge or coffee maker on the room, which could be expected for the price. Location is right next to the Casino and above the noisy bars. So not the kind if you’re looking for a quiet location. Swimming facilities are great and nicely done, also clean. Breakfast is really nice. Forget good coffee if you’re used to Italian coffee (for the spoilt…).

Friendly staff, especially Fanika was very helpful. Maybe for a HotelManagement student she needs to learn her boundaries to go a level higher. But for this hotel she was great.
