How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The hotel is old but renovated. The breakfast was not the best, the orange juice was very sour, like it has been there for longer time.

Really nice stay in city centre of Vinkovci with very friendly and helpfull staff. Anyway it needs a little refreshment at all levels. Free parking is a nice bonus.

the pillows and bed sheets were either too small or too soft for both of our liking. additionally, the queen sized bed was just two smaller beds pushed together both me and my partner kept falling through the space in between them.
breakfast was vast. the location was neat and the place was quiet. the smart tv was neat and the huge mirror in the back of the room was so nice to have.

This is a pretty old hotel which could use a renovation but on the other hand, it also provides a retro-feeling so one should try and cherish this experience ;-)
A cozy, "oldish" hotel in the centre of Vinkovci. Next to it there is a (pretty secure) parking lot (which includes an EV charging station). Staff was absolutely cordial and helpful, everything worked without any issues. Many shopping stores as well as bars and restaurants around, reachable by foot.

Everything was OK.
Very helpful staff at reception desk, lady working in the afternoon hours has really professional attitude for customers.Customer service in Hotel Slavonija is better than in some high ranking hotels. I would recommend this hotel to anybody visting Vinkovci either for business or pleasure.

Helpful and polite personnel. I was kindly offered the option to check-out later than the normal time, in order to get some more sleep, as I had arrived late after midnight in the previous night.

Hotel Slavonija is a well-known hotel in Vinkovci, that has probably gone through renovation phases. The rooms are not the most modern you could see nowadays, but they give a traditional feeling from the past times. It goes without saying that they keep high clean and hygiene standards. Staff were really polite, parking available at the public parking space (no fees for hotel guests, but you will need to display a card which is handed to you at the reception). Hope you will consider staying in Hotel Slavonija in Vinkovci too upon your visit.

Rooms are a bit old fashioned, that did not bother me. If you are very demanding, it can be an issue.

The rooms deserve some renovation, then everything would be perfect for this small hotel with the great location.
The staff was very friendly and professional. On the last day we missed the breakfast and the manager saw it herself in the computer, so she offered us a lunch packages. It was unexpected to us and showed us how they cared for every guest.

There was nothing I didn't like at the hotel. Everything was above my expectations. It offers excellent value for money.
The staff was very kind and helpful. I have never seen the positive approach in this hotel in any other hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the breakfast was above many hotels. Absolutely perfect.

Very bad condition of the hotel. Everything is old and whatever you grab either breaks or stays in your hand. The elevator is in a tragic state and very narrow. It is difficult for two people with luggage to enter. Nice pictures and high expectations, but in reality it does not meet even 10% of the expectations.
