The bed was a little hard for us. Would have preferred a large bedcover on the bed rather than 2 single bedcovers. Food and drink are a little pricey compared to the other restaurants of a similar calibre.

Plenty to see and do on the island. If you are looking for a place that isn't too touristy, where you can experience the rustic culture of this part of croatia and want to get away from the busyness of life, then this is the place for you. It is quiet, peaceful and has beautiful places to swim and snorkel a stone's throw from the hotel. The hotel has a lovely pool area with a bar and toilets and is perfectly located from the quirky rustic old town. Where you will find several restaurants, one is even voted the best on the island. Plenty of trails to hike and bike. Crees and Rab are definitely worth a visit. A superb holiday, we would definitely go back.

Mosquitoes. We weren't that thrilled by the town, relative to so many others we've experienced on this trip. Room wasn't wonderful, but quite acceptable. Not convinced about rapport qualité prix....

They were very kind and helpful when I made a fuss about our room being invaded by mosquitoes. Breakfast was nicely presented, though not everything was great. Fresh OJ would have been nice.

Impeccably clean and the staff were just super friendly and helpful, particularly the twins (savid & senat) and Mateo and paloma. Great advice on what to do and see and nothing was too much trouble. Met the owners at checkout and they were equally lovely.

The amazing location is only matched by the generous and delightful staff. What a beautiful stay. I only wish it was longer

Everything was perfect!

A beautiful hotel perched above the old town of Vrbnik near the sea—it could not have been more well situated, with just a 5 min walk into the old town and within a short driving distance of all the other little towns on Krk. Parking at the hotel was easy. Our room was spacious yet cozy, with breathtaking sea and city views from our private balcony. There is a relaxing private pool behind the hotel, with plenty of nice loungers and umbrellas, plus a poolside bar. Service is so charming and friendly (plus the beach is also just a short walk from the hotel. It’s not a touristy as other Krk beaches, and there is a bar and loungers there too. Our bed was so comfortable. The AC in our room was great—such a necessity for comfortable travel accommodations in Croatia, but not always guaranteed. The bathroom in our room was also spacious and modern. Excellent shower. We enjoyed the expansive and tasty breakfast each morning, with lots of ala carte goodies in addition to eggs and espresso drinks available by order. I loved the cappuccino! For dinner, we enjoyed Pizzeria Gospoja very much, and drank Zhlatina, a white wine that is only produced in the region, at pretty much every meal. In short, we liked everything about our stay at Hotel Verbenicum and we are already planning to return next year!

There is nothing to dislike.

Host Iva is an exceptional owner and manager making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Her attention to detail and her sense of humour shine through. We were celebrating our anniversary and Iva very kindly upgraded our room. When she battled with her internet provider, who’d badly let her down, she immediately loaned her personal business phone so important Zoom calls could be made. Also helping to make our stay in Vrbnik special were the twins, the super-waiting staff, who like Iva always have a mischievous smile and are happy to help at all times.

We stayed in a very clean, beautiful and very large room on the second floor which had a view over the old town of Vrbnik and the sea. The staff was super friendly, the breakfast was nice, parking was excellent (lots of space), and Vrbnik proved a good base for our trips around the island of Krk. Definitely recommended.
