Very central location. Too noisy at night to leave the window open but with the windows closed and the air conditioning on, it was fine. Good breakfasts. Great lighting in the room and bathroom. Finally enough light to read!

Amazing breakfast and reception, 1552 is always one of my favourite hotels. Perfect location in the centre of Eger, really good value for the rooms.

We were not impressed by the 1552 restaurant location but that is because we try to avoid tourist locations and this one is right in the middle of one of the busiest tourist destinations: the castle

We loved the unique design of the hotel and the historically influenced decor. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and spacious. Staff was lovely, very friendly and helpful. And breakfast was wonderful and went well above our expectations!

Restaurant could be slightly better, and asking a fee for parking in the courtyard (after you pay those room rates) is a stretch.

Cons: No full length mirror. But everything else was superb!

This is about the town Eger, not about the hotel: everything closes at 10 pm. So, you cannot get anything to eat anywhere if you arrive late. Only a Macdonald's and that closes at 11 pm. Be warned!

The staff speaks good English, which is rare in Hungary, and they are very friendly. The room was very nice and luxurious, with a very high ceiling. It's a 300 year old building and you can feel the history. They welcome you with a glass of prosecco as a welcome drink, and again for breakfast if you want 😊. Breakfast was very good. Good coffee.

Did not like a bathroom (got really wet), no tea & coffee making set in the room (however, they provided hot water very quickly)

The hotel is in a great location, a special old building that has been modernized and renovated. Creating a really special, positive atmosphere. The staff was very kind and helpful - thank you for everything! The room was clean, cozy and thoughtfully furnished. The breakfast was fantastic, plentiful and varied. Keep up the good work, we will definitely go back.

This hotel is such a gem in Eger. I had no idea what to expect as an American traveling here along for the first time. The staff were SO accommodating, making sure my transportation was arranged and even had a nice welcome glass of Prosecco. I highly recommend staying here!!

Internet was weak, and the radiator made a noise one night (but the staff fixed it for the second night).

Fantastic breakfast, the hotel is well-placed with stylish nice rooms, really nice dining nook. We were greeted with drinks, had a great massage - it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had.
