How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A lovely and quiet hotel on the edge of the historic district and only steps away from the castle.

We had a most enjoyable stay. The hotel is within short walk to the centre with its many restaurants and shops. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful especially Ana. Our room was very spacious and well equipped.We have no hesitation in recommending Aqua Villa for a stay and we hope to be back

Well organized place with convenient parking in excellent location. Room was very clean and comfortable with efficient AC, and we also enjoyed tasty breakfast.

Our stay was very comfortable, Villa is near the centre. Room is very spacious, staff was very friendly. We sure that we will return back in future in summer time. There is nice aquapark and atmosphere of city with very good restaurants. I fully recommend to visit this beautiful city Eger.

Just one little thing. In the bathroom the water leaked from the shower to the floor but nothing else.
By walk the downtown is very close but the hotel is not in the city cetre so it is quiet which is perfect for relaxing. Tha staff were helpful and nice and the breakfast was also delicious. There are vegetarian gluten and lactose free options. With our dog it was a pleasure to stayed there so I can recommend this place. Next time we also want to stay int his nice hotel.

It’s rustic charm. What a beautiful building only 7 or 8 mins walk from the castle and old town square. The staff are all amazing-so friendly and helpful and their English was excellent and we would encourage people from the U.K. to visit Hungry and Eger which is a hidden gem. The rooms are very comfortable with modern bathrooms and super clean. I have never ever smelled towels as fresh and beautiful as the towels at Aqua Villa - OMG they were amazing. Breakfast was simply Hungarian and fresh and lovely. The outside hot tub and sun beds were a lovely bonus that did not cost any extra, nor did the use of robes and towels which was a nice surprise. Highly recommend the Aqua Villa to anyone visiting the beautiful town of Eger.

It was a shame the restaurant wasn't open.
The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the castle, restaurants and the city. The room was very comfortable and the staff helpful and professional.

Restaurant/bar was not open in evening due to staff shortage. But easy to find alternative.
Great location, very quiet but just a short walk from centre. Staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming.

Room did not have a balcony an i'm a smoker so i made a few trips downstairs. Second bed in a bit small for a tall guy like me. Things of little importance in the end.
Girl at the front desk was extremely helpfull and polite. Room was spacious and quiet. You even get a smal kitchen in the room, but we did nor used it. Everything is spotless clean. Top of the charts clean. Breakfast, while not as diverse as in big hotels, had a nice selection of well prepared and tasty food.

Excelent place, super clean, quiet, quality bed. Nice surrounding such as the garden. Breakfest was tasty and more then enough. I would recomend this place to anyone. Keep it up Aqua Villa.

Tight bathroom with some strange odours and loud vent that was not really helping. Typical and rather simple breakfast with poor coffee.
Free parking with a lot of space. Quiet location about 5 minutes walk from the castle and 30 minutes walk to the valley. Spacious room with comfortable bed. Helpful young man on the desk.

Shower in the spa area (sauna and jacuzzi) was not working.
Very friendly and helpful receptionist, who spoke fluent English. Centrally located but very quiet. Breakfast was good.

The reception has been closed at 22 pm, therefore we got a phone number from the receptionist, if we could not get in.
The personnel was very helpful and nice. We could occupy our room much sooner (12 instead of 14 pm). The location of the hotel is great, very close to the center of the city (Dobó István square).
