Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesVery little to complain about. Would note that there is no 24 hour staff. Concierge leaves in the evening, so don't forget key, expect late night room service, etc. The family room offers little privacy in the main bedroom, so plan accordingly. TV cable was not set up, so had to figure that out.
Beautiful well furnished room in a quiet part of the castle district. Great for a family traveling together. Staff was helpful and spoke excellent English. Fine continental breakfast. Nice shower. Complimentary Nespresso.

IsraelBreakfast was almost non-existent. coffee capsules were extra, I had to pay extra for breakfast because it was gluten free...these are minor details but for such a nice hotel it seemed odd the staff were a bit wooden and laconic and weren't very engaging
great room, nice entrance and ambiance to the hotel, super location...

PolandLocation near the best views for city landscape especially evenings when everything gets quiet and peaceful. Many lovely places to go foodie. Friendly, wonderful and professional Staff that makes stay in the hotel comfortable. One little thing to change is the breakfast included- in our opinion it would be perfect to have more tasty (not only sweet) other options to choose not only aromatic and crispy freshly baked croissants. It was delicious with retro- style smooth mood music play, lovely cafe latte but it was to short list for breakfast in 4 Star hotel. We were aware that it will change in the nearest futer so hopefully keep fingers crossed. Well done for very comfortable beds! We were Sleeping like children🤩 Definitely we will come back when Next time in Budapest

MaltaBreakfast included was just 2 freshly baked and warm croissants with jam / butter, coffee/ tea and orange juice .Other options were available but not included. This might have been because another restaurant was being used for breakfast as the hotel's restaurant was undergoing redecoration. We had a 5 minute walk for breakfast. The hotel restaurant should now be up and running as it had to open on Sunday 1st May. Service during breakfast in the other restaurant was lovely.
The hotel is very original, very unique. We loved the super polite staff, english speaking, cleanliness and attention to detail. The location is tranquil, some nice restaurants in the area and a 10/15 minute taxi ride over the bridges to Pest. We Loved every minute 😍

TurkeyParking of the location is very pricey. 20 EUR overnight with the voucher provided from the reception. Otherwise even more experience.
Very spacey room, quality L'occitane amenities, very friendly staff, delicious breakfast served to the room, two beautiful dogs in the bar, excellent location right at the Buda castle, walking distance to great restaurants including Jamie Oliver. Paid parking in front of the hotel. Will definitely stay here again.

SerbiaThe restaurant was not opened. The add advertised the breakfast being included but we had to go to another hotel for the breakfast - not very convenient, especially when it ends at 10:30hrs. Charges for having a pet are 20€ per day. I believe charges for pet should be per stay, not per day.
Beautiful small hotel very well appointed. The room was very comfortable, nice beds, everything was super clean, nice shower in bathroom. Complimentary coffee and nespresso machine was appreciated. The location within the castle district walls is perfect.

United StatesThe property is not value for money. The property is very small so no other facility than the room you stay in. The area closes down early by around 10 pm.. The hotel policy is to ask for a tip as a percentage of the total bill , which we found strange and excessive. Also we were promised an early breakfast as we had an early departure, but next morning they shrugged their shoulders and did not give breakfast even when it was paid for.
Easy access to the castle area in buda. Quiet , clean.

United KingdomOnly one minor complaint is that breakfast isn’t actually available at the hotel. There is a restaurant attached and you can pay to have breakfast there, but on Booking it still offers the breakfast / no breakfast option. Minor inconvenience, but should be made more clear when booking on this app.
Fantastic hotel - rooms are beautifully designed and provide everything you need for a short break. The staff were very helpful and the location is very central for the castle district.

United KingdomHad to get taxi to and from hotel as most things to do and see are other side of the river . Only pod coffee in room you had to pay for as per usual mini bar thing. The included breakfast was VERY basic 2 * croissants with one coffee/tea and one glass of juice. Hotel staff went home about 5 o’clock but I guess nothing for them to do. Seemed very empty. Hotel restaurant closed during our stay
It was in a quiet respectable clean area. Close to Buda castle at top of hill. Unique room with character. No noise at night

GermanyThe personnel was only partially available. It seems the staff was sharing the time with another business or something like that. Of course we had a call nr for emergency but this is a bit like Air BnB or Rooms to Let logic. The Bar and Restaurant were closed until June. However this is not highlighted in Booking.com and it was important for our choice. The breakfast was in another location but very close (300-500m) It was of good quality (homemade style) but basic: 2 croissants + 2 jams +1 coffee or Tea. More options were available but with extra charge.
Beautiful location and beautiful rooms. Very good access to public transportation. Staff friendly and helpful

United KingdomThe Hotel restaurant and bar was sadly closed during our stay - this wasn’t advertised at the time of booking, and we only discovered that once we arrived - although it has been closed since 2020. (Pandemic related no doubt, but a reference to it in the listing would be welcomed) This meant no evening bar at the hotel, and breakfast was served at a different hotel down the street. The included breakfast was a little lacking, consisting of croissants and a coffee - a few more options included in the rate would have been welcomed. Lastly, while there was a Nespresso machine in the room, there was a €1 charge per pod after the first, which seemed a bit much given the room rate.
The room was amazing, and very well decorated; large comfortable bed, amazing balcony with a great view, well equipped with plug sockets, good lighting and a great bathroom with amazing L’Occitane toiletries. The location in Old Town was fabulous, great views near by - and a short walk/bus ride to the nearest Metro. (Tip for travellers, get the number 16 bus from Széll Kálmán tér if you’re lugging suitcases around)
