Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceSo. Lots of noise, to begin with. Also dirty, to the point of asking yourself whether it has ever been cleaned since opening. Carpet, walls, furniture, bed (hair everywhere!), bathroom, everything was far below average. Also my bed wasn't actually a bed, just mattresses (one of them very damaged) stacked one upon another. I don't know if I was just unlucky, but if this image I described is the reality, I surely do not recommend it to anyone.
Very good location, next to the Keleti Station. Good price, big room for its price, size being more than ideal for 1-2 people. Near restaurants and supermarkets. Helpful for train rides across Europe and low-budget traveling.

United StatesBad customer service. I find out that the guys at the reception were friendlier than the women. The one that did our check-in was very sarcastic and on a bad mood, I don't know if that's cultural but like I said, the guys were easy to deal with than the women that were there. You have to asked for the towels up front in the reception, they don't leave it in the room. The room carpet were discussing (needs a replacement ASAP) and you could tell that no vacuum were given. We called the cleaning crew several time when we were hear them in the hallway to come get our trash, they were nice though.
This is a place that have potential but with a bad management. The room was spacious. The location was a plus, it was in front of the main train stations and metro station. It had restaurants, supermarkets and cafes around the area.

New ZealandStaff could be a little more friendly and hospitable, a smile wouldn't hurt, but maybe its just them being Hungarians.
Location was easy enough to get to from the airport. Close to tram and metro station and main train terminal. Room was nice size and clean considering its an old building. Breakfast was okay, juice, yogurt, cheese, coffee but had to be delivered from a restaurant nearby.

SerbiaFirst room that we get was not cleaned at all. By my request they changed to another room. It was cleaner but a lot of staff there was broken (door to bathroom, door to balcony). Towels need to be requested at the reception, they also looked old and if to look at them on the light covered by spots. Restoran inside is no longer working - payment for breakfast they returned. Looks like this big hotel is living its last years
Nice Location. You can walk to the city center. Train station near

AustriaThe hotel is dirty, the carpets haven't been cleaned for years, (in the room as well), the bathroom needs a thorough scrub down, so if you search for cleanliness, avoid this hotel at any cost. The mattresses are extremely soft and uncomfortable and the pillows extremely large. There are no toiletries (apart from soap) and NO TOWELS provided, so be sure to bring your own. For the sake of cleanliness, bring your own sandals or flip-flops and a bottle of disinfectant.
The location is superb - it is literally the first hotel, exiting Keleti train station and it has a convenience store right next to the entrance. The hotel is peaceful and the bathroom has a bathtub and a hairdryer. The beds were clean! Budget friendly for a 1 night stay, if you prefer staying alone in the room over sharing it with others in a hostel and are not a clean freak.

United KingdomThe entire property is rundown and needs a refurb. The hallways have carpet stains from old paint. The room was freezing cold and we had to sleep in our jackets and hats. The mattress was old, out of shape and unconfortable. The shower did not drain properly.
Right next to Keleti station and communication with the reception team about our late arrival was quick and easy.

IrelandThe bed was not made, which is very important when you go to a hotel. The bedroom was clean but not to the standard that should be expected when paying for a service. There was no light in the bedroom which is unacceptable.
The location is awesome because you have a metro just in front of the door.

IrelandThe hotel is understaffed and un managed, when we checked in we were provided keys and asked to go and check the rooms in a cycle, untill after about 4 times we strongly asked the staff to help us and come with us to the room. Some rooms had a bad smell and some were missing essential elements like electricity. Luckily one of the guys on the reception was very helpful and he made us settle in after a lot of troubles. thanks buddy you know who you are…
The booking was not very costly and the location was good.
