How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Only staff at the reception desk spoke English. No one else knew English!? That is unacceptable at the 4* hotel. We managed to communicate with them in German, but my German is very weak, so we struggled a bit. Outside pool was open, but water was freezing cold in it. Air temperature inside and water temperature in inside large pool was colder than pleasant. There were 15 unbred teenager boys at the pool, that were splashing, yelling, jumping, yelling, yelling, screaming and disturbing everyone around, Although there were pool staff around, they were not saying anything to them. They ruined wellness experience to me and everyone else. If this happens again on my next visit, I will stop visiting this hotel. Wellness area closes at 7.30-7.35, not at 8 PM as advertised. It was too warm in the room and central AC was not cooling, it was just recirculating normal temperature air.
Food was perfect. Staff is pleasant. The fact that you can do late check-in at 11 AM and enjoy the wellness in the morning is great!!! Beds are comfortable and rooms are quiet.

When we check-in, I specifically asked if we could get towels for spa and the reply was that they are in rooms. They were not there and for spa we had to use towels intended for showering, so later we did not have them dry for showering. 3/4 of staff does not speak English. Area around the hotel is VERY dark. We wanted to go for a walk to the center, but did not feel comfortable walking through black dark park or streets. At 10 PM, bar is closed, so no chance to have a late drink. On Booking it is stated that pool is open 8 AM-8 PM. At hotel's site, it is 9 AM - 8 PM. When you go to the reception, you see the same information, that it works until 8 PM. When you go to the pool, it says that it works till 7.40 PM. At 7.30, jacuzzi, waterfall and other facilities stop working and at 7.35 PM they kindly ask you to leave. Then you should write it like that, that pools work till 7.30 PM.
Breakfast and dinner were excellent, with great variety. Rooms were clean. Spa is small, but sufficient, with enough facilities to make it interesting for a few days. There is a free parking behind the hotel. We enjoyed it and will visit it again.

Staff is not nice if you are not Austrian guest. We asked to book a Taxi with card payment. They sent a private car, cash only and no possibility to get a receipt.
Huge rooms with nice balcony view. Very good food

Our room looked over the park on one side; lovely. The room was huge, with separate toilet, and a large bathroom with bath and shower. The staff in the dining area were really hard-working and efficient. Plenty of options for buffet breakfast and dinner. Our bicycles were stored safely in a downstairs locked room. Air conditioning cooled the room nicely. Excellent value for money.

The mattress of the bed was very good but the pillows were so slim that by the 4th day of our stay we started feeling pain in our necks. Also what we don't understand (and this applies to many other hotels in general) is that if dinner is a buffet why aren't non alcoholic drinks included in the price, why do we have to pay extra for a bottle of water? Alcoholic beverages to be charged extra makes sense but if the non alcoholic ones are available throughout the day why close them up during dinner and ask extra price for it? The elevator usage was not explained and it isn't self explanatory when facing the doors (no sign shows where you need to hold your keycard) took us few days to figure it out.
Food offered in the buffet (breakfast and dinner) was always very pleasant, there were many options to choose from and it was easy to find something that was very good, during the day you could get free non alcoholic beverages including coffee. The location is very nice, easy access to the Őrség region and also Austria. The thermal bath is easily accessible and is a pleasant experience. The bar staff and waiters were always friendly and nice.

The staff didn’t give the information at the check in how to use the facilities. We were surprised that the sauna was an extra charge. The cleaning of the room was missed twice. The housekeeping was clearly understaffed.
The food was excellent! A big thank you to the chef and all the kitchen staff!
