Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. AustriaThe breakfast was decidedly average, and the beds were not overly comfortable. Also, the shower sprayed water into the bathroom, making the floor wet, which caused me to slip and injure myself.
The staff had limited English, but really made an effort to communicate everything clearly, and the location is quiet, and close to a supermarket. The room was big, and the bathroom was very clean.

AustraliaI booked a room with a double bed , and I got a room with two single beds . Would have asked for a refund if it wasn't a lete check in. I'm not blaming the property hundred percent for this, because Booking.com's website was somewhat misleading.
The Location is good, easy walking distance to the centre of town.

RomaniaThere were many things not okay: 1. surprise on arrival: though we have made our reservation on booking for 7 adults and 4 children (9, 12, 16, 17 years old) for 3 rooms, on the arrival we have been told that our reservation is made for 7 + 3 infants and the rooms are not quite enough for us and we need to pay for a fourth room. I have shown my reservation on my phone with the Booking app but the lady told me she doesn’t speak english so she can not understand it, but her reservation app says it’s been made for 7 + 3 infants. She has shown me the rooms and we found out that of they put one extra bed it will be okay. When I got the bill I have seen that they have put 37 Euros for the extra bed, which was quite much. 2. the reason: after this we have checked where the confusion can be and it seems that something’s wrong display on their booking page. I’ve attached a screenshot with it, where it says that the twin rooms have 2 single beds and one extra large double bed. It turned out that it should write OR and not AND. The lady said it could be the app translation the source of the problem, but she could not do anything to help me. I don’t know if that’s true, but it does’t change my situation as I did not get what I have booked. I have checked on their page now and it seems they have corrected the information at least after this conflict. 3. tourism tax: They have charged me in addition for tourism tax saying that Booking fees are not including it which is not true, I have not paid for tourism tax in any place where I booked so far from Booking. After an hour they came to our room and brought back the tourism tax in cash, saying I was right. 4. the rooms: the building is old, and the rooms seem not to be renovated in the last 8–10 years. The towels were not clear, and the air was not fresh in the room and in the whole building. 5.
The property is in a calm, nice place of the town, with many green spaces: parks, gardens.
