How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing to add, everything was excellent during our stay.
Liked the stylish ambiance of the hotel, its proximity to the metro station, and the comfortable, clean, and spacious rooms. The breakfast offered a variety of delicious options, and the friendly staff made our stay enjoyable.

The interior is very authentic and unique. The staff were extremely helpful. Proximity to one of the main train stations (10min walk)

If you are traveling with your car pay attention when you need to exit the highway, it is a 90 degree right turn exit. You must move to bus lane and the exit is not visible enough. Parking at the hotel is charged 10€ per night but you can park outside of the hotel premises without a problem. There is a small parking lot right in front of the hotel.
Beatiful hotel with very friendly staff. Breakfast is very good with a wide variety of food. Hotel is located 10min walk from the Metro where you can quickly reach the city center. Hotel has an access to the roof where you can observe the surrondings.

Not my first staying here. Nice clean place, good breakfast, quiet calm and quiet room. For this price maybe the best option in Budapest.

Two of my nights I hardly slept due to noise in the corridor (inconsiderate people letting doors slam) and other clowns who think it acceptable to have loud conversations near midnight. This wasn’t the hotels fault, but perhaps something they should be on top of before it happens, eg on the info sheet ask people to be considerate of others who may have an early start.
Staff were very friendly and helpful; the room was very good - spacious and clean. Got everything you need.

The water pressure is quite weak, they should really try to do something about that. The tea machine was often out of teabags. I think that perhaps the staff was a little overworked.
Excellent location. Firm and comfortable beds. Clean room. Daily housekeeping. Responsive English-speaking staff. Nice lobby area for hanging out and getting work done. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had at a hotel.

Realy great option of price and quality. Very clean hotel. Breakfast was perfect, not big but covered everything. Bed was absolutly amazing really comfortable. Simple, coloured, clean, nice ;-)

If you don't have a car you may find it a bit isolated and away from the city.
The hotel and the room was great. We were in a family room. The breakfast was good, with big variety and quality. The hotel had a safe area for parking and a car charger which was a plus for us!

The room is kind of small for 2 people with wallets, so it means limited space if you travel with kids.
The hotel is located near to a big metro/bus station from where you can move all over the city. Next to that station, there is a mall where you can find food. The hotel is decorated with a lot of colors, and you have a beverage machine available 24/7 on the lobby.

For those travelling by car, do not use the official address of the hotel for the GPS navigator. Go to "Lodgings" and type Ibis Styles Budapest CityWest and you will immediately have the correct map and roads direct to the hotel.
We had a very nice stay at Ibis. Excellent with guarded parking and very friendly and kind staff. We have in particular appreciated the kindness and care by Attila in the reception that made us feel at home from the first moment, Iztvan in the restaurant for excellent service and attention. Very good value for money and excellent wifi.

The soundproofing isn't up to par with what was promised. There's a ton of noise coming from the rooms upstairs.
Breakfast was fantastic! They've got a pancake machine too, which is a nice touch.

Very friendly staff, coffe & tea available for free all the time. Good access to underground/buses/ trams and trains. Close to Lidl shop. Delicious breakfasts - my kids especially liked the machine for making pancakes:)
