Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThere isn't too much negative to write about, but there are still areas for improvement. - The room was quite hot, and we couldn't find a way to adjust the temperature to a cooler setting, so we opened the window. However, keeping the windows open at night in February isn't practical. As a result, we didn't sleep well at all during the first night. - The bathroom is nicely designed in a retro style and includes a bathtub. While it's not spacious, that wasn't a major issue. The real challenge was taking a quick shower. First, it was almost impossible not to spill water onto the floor. Second, in the right corner of the bathtub, there's an arc-like space, about the size of my two palms, where all the water collects without anywhere to flow, making a shower curtain essential if a shower cabin isn't installed. - Despite being careful, we ended up spilling some water out. This became a problem when our little kid (14 month old) tried to join his mother in the bathtub, slipped, fell onto his back, and hit his head on the floor tiles quite hard. Although we were next to him, it happened so swiftly and unexpectedly, that we didn't manage to catch him. Luckily, there were no visible injuries, but there was a lot of crying afterward that I can tell, and it was clear he felt it really badly. - Parking is another issue I generally dislike wherever I go, and it's even more frustrating in locations without crowded streets or limited parking availability. Here, there's plenty of space, yet if you book through booking.com, you're required to pay for parking, which costs 1500 HUF/day (approximately 4 EUR). Although it's not a large amount, it begs the question: why? It doesn't seem to make a difference to the host, but for a guest, this charge can significantly impact the overall experience, especially since parking is offered for free when booking directly through their website.
The Castle is charming, formed from 3 main buildings. The idea is once you are inside, you basically never have to go outside again, and you can enjoy all the features it can offer. The room was clean, not big, but we only wanted to sleep there, not to spend hours in it. We had breakfast and dinner included in our booking. Well, I can tell that it was lovely every day, with delicious meals of all types you can imagine. I really liked that every evening at dinner there was a fruit-based soup, which is a common thing in Hungary, and it was always something new and delicious. The castle has a SPA section. It's not that big but it's sufficient, with various saunas. There is an underground tunnel that connects the buildings, where there is a bowling alley, a billiard table, and other fun stuff, which is also a very nice way to spend some time. Of course, they have a gym and lobby spaces, I mean entire rooms, on every floor. I just went out to the lobby space after our child fell asleep to not bother the family, stayed there, and read for two hours, just me. Staff was very nice. Nobody bothered me in the evening, I stayed comfortably, in very spacious, well-lit rooms. You can stay there a whole day and just chill out with a book without anyone bothering you. Oh, and one very special thing is they have on the third floor of the castle (it's not easy to find because you have to enter via the tower) a room for kids. It's like 40 square meters of space with tons of games, stuff for kids of every age. Of course, we discovered it the day before checkout, but until checkout, we stayed there for around 5 hours in total. Our little kid loved it. We were there in February, so you'd expect the weather to be cold, but it was quite pleasant, above 10 degrees. We were able to walk around the castle, which is very nice. I can imagine it's lovely also during the hot seasons. Overall, I think it's not a cheap place to stay, but definitely worth trying.

HungaryThere was no facility to dry wet clothes. The parking was not included in the price, which was a surprise to me. Many of the popular TV channels were missing, including the major sport channels, so it was not possible to watch Wimbledon or Tour de France.
The location is beautiful, so is the building inside, as well as outside. The food was excellent, nice variety, good quality and tasteful. The hotel was very well equipped. The staff was nice.

HungaryI prefer hard bed mattress to soft, otherwise everything was perfect.
Both the interior and the exterior of the estate have been beautifully restored. The staff was attentive, the suite was clean and in a nice design. Both the dinner and the breakfast were delicious. The wellness area was not crowded.

HungaryAt the begining the receptionist told us they have a suprise for us which was our room had been upgraded to suite. The suite is incredible, huge room and bathroom, has a built in sauna. The staff are really friendly, breakfast and dinner were dilicious and varied. Almost every night they had different kind of entertainment for all the guests like a magician or live violin artist. Inside the building has a lot of different kind of entertainment like free bowling, arcade games, pool and also the spa. The hotel is amazing beautiful and luxorious. We had an unbelievable great time here.

HungaryA lot of hidden charges (extra taxes on pre-payed meals, service fees on our pre-payed meals, we were not told we'd have to pay for our dog to stay with us during check-in and were told to pay this fee upon check-out). The food was mediocre- we expected much more. The "bell and light show" in the evenings was a joke.
Beautiful location! Really nice park surrounding the property. Friendly staff. Hiking trails close by. Spa was open until late in the evening. Nice panorama jacuzzi outside overlooking the park. Late check-out is really worth it, as you get to leave by 4 PM.

United StatesWe didn’t care for the buffet dining. While the food was very good, the atmosphere was a little noisy and busy.
The Kastélyhotel Sasvár is in a lovely location and is a very pretty facility.
