How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very welcoming, super friendly and efficient staff. Quick to respond to questions or requests. The property itself is located in the old part of Buda and is an eclectic tasteful mix of modern and historical. Beautiful and nicely appointed rooms. Public transport is very close!

Can't think of anything.
The staff was tremendously gracious and accommodating, the breakfast was complimentary and beyond what I had expected. The location inside the castle gates was convenient and felt extremely safe. Room 8 was beautiful.

It's not a complaint, it's a suggestion. If parking is a bit more expensive for you, park in front of the fortress, you have an elevator and than 300 meters to the hotel on foot. A pleasant walk 😊

The location in Budapest could not be better, just a few minutes walk to the Fisherman's Bastion. It was extremely pleasant to walk there from the very morning before breakfast, when the city is just waking up. The breakfast was also excellent)

Location, staff, luxury of the rooms (linen, pillows), rooms at petit maison are large and wonderful! Staff are friendly, helpful and “nothing is too much”, they all work hard to meet your every need! The food is delicious!!! Highly recommend their breakfast-wide variety and great value for money!Very safe location. Walking distance to view points and landmarks.

Parking is very expensive near the hotel. There are parking spaces further out, but only free from 10 PM.
The hotel looks very nice, it has a great location. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they do everything to satisfy your needs. The room was cozy and clean, bed was comfortable. We couldn't stay until breakfast and they were kind enough to pack it for us, which was of excellent quality.

There was no such thing
I can't say enough good words about this wonderful hotel. We loved every single thing about it. It's beautiful interiors, great location, super kind staff (every single person working there was amazing) and breakfast as a star of a show. They even provided gluten free bread for me. We have already booked an extra night in Petite Maison, that's how much we enjoyed our experience.

Nothing, we loved our stay!
This hotel was fantastic. The area was perfection and we loved staying up on the Buda side. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. It was beautiful, decorated well, and so clean. We had lunch here and it was fantastic, I wish we'd tried dinner as well. Breakfast was amazing and included in our room rate. We would 100% stay here again if we return to Budapest. If you have a car parking in the area was also quite easy.

Nothing - it was all perfect.
The location in Buda means it is quiet and surrounded by beautiful buildings. The hotel is beautifully presented and very well maintained. The staff are all fantastic. Very friendly, helpful and responsive to any requests. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to be in a quieter part of the city and want high standards of accommodation.

Not much the hotel can do, but the parking inside the castle area (where the hotel is located) is rather expensive and it can be a challenge to find a free spot.
A fantastic stay! I've got a very nice, spacious, cosy and nicely decorated room with jacuzzi. Very comfortable big bed with a choice of pillows. Very quiet and private place in the nice old house. A welcome drink and a sweet treat were a nice bonus! Very nice and helpful staff. The hotel also features a fantastic breakfast.

The room was "tired" a little, but it wasn't a big problem.
The staff was very polite and friendly. Breakfasts were very tasty. The location is really great, Fisherman's Bastion is in two minutes by walk!
