Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe bathroom + toilet were very far from our room, and was shared with 50 people. The showers only had curtains and no possibility of hanging your clothes inside of the shower room, and no possibility of closing the door.
The location was good, the restaurants downstairs were nice.

Germanythe fact that only a part of the stove in the ground floor worked and the other kitchens didn’t work. and there were no more fridges in the kitchens. and the couches were really old and partly broken. In the rooms the curtains don’t really keep the light out

AustriaThe curtain doesn't really block out the light and there was a weird smell in the room. I also found it really warm in the room. There is no soap available and you don't get a towel, so bring this yourself or buy it.
So I found this place relatively last minute because it was close to the Sziget festival and I didn't want to camp. Normally it's a students dorm so there are 2 1pers beds per room (in mine at least), two little desks and a fridge. The showers and toilets are shared in the hallway, which is fine (showers were good!!). Lidl is around the corner. 20 min walk to Obudai island. And with 30 min with tram 1 you can be at Keleti train station.

BelgiumThe people working there are incredibly unfriendly. I don't know if it is always the case or if it is just because of the festival. Also, there is a lot of noise during the night and early in the morning due to bad noise isolation. The bedroom was very hot, even if we slept with the window open all night long. There is also only 4 showers to share with fifty people, which is too little in my opinion. We took showers at night when we got back from the festival, and we were alone, though. They were cleaner than expected.
The location is very nice if you go to Sziget. The rooms were relatively clean and the bed hard, but I prefer that than too soft. There were locks on our door to assure safety of our things.

SlovakiaThere's only one shower for women - cannot be locked. Then there are four showers for men. The same applies to toilets - there's one toilet for women (this can be locked surprisingly) and then for men there are more toilets. Basically, the toilets and showers are shared because girls don't have enough space, we didn't even have one sink nor a mirror so basically if you want to at least brush your teeth you have to go to the men's room. The rooms are terribly hot, beds are dirty and uncomfortable but we were there for the Sziget festival so as long as you come back drunk you can survive it here. People are talking and singing until 5 am and the location isn't really that good for Sziget either - it's probably a 35-40 minute walk. Overall, the price for this experience was too high, we have dorms in Slovakia that look the same and they cost 40€ per month not per 2 nights.
The bathrooms are new so they were not that bad.

SlovakiaThe other guests were extremly noisy even after 10PM on the corridor and we were woken up multiple times by them. Also there is no lift/elevator so if you have a lot of bags ask for a room downstairs.
The receptionist was very nice. The place itself is a student dormitory so it was as expected for the price. Communal bathrooms and toilets. Women had a separate shower and toilet. There was also a communal kitchen with a microvawe and oven. Everything was clean (but you need to bring your own towel and toiletries). There was a small fridge in the room. The placement of the dormitory is nice, there is a tram and bus to the city centre near and there are shops close by (aldi, lidl, kfc ..)

MaltaNo towels only cheap linen, beds are thin mattresses on a plank of wood, staff don’t speak english which is fine but would have been helpful, walls are paper thin so you hear each phone vibration and footstep outside for the whole corridor, doors have graffiti on them and showers feel like they’re rotting away, this was not worth the sleepless nights

TurkeyThere are literally no locks on the toilet doors and you have to hold the door while doing your business. Also the showers and toilets were mostly dirty. The rooms were hot and also not so clean. We couldn’t even use the kitchen area because the couch seems to barely survive World War II and very filthy.
Only thing we liked about the accommodation was that it was close to the Sziget Festival so we could access the festival grounds by walking or with a scooter.

FranceWhether your stay will be comfortable or not is purely based on other people’s behavior. If they are loud, you will be kept awake or awaken in the middle of the night. The property is dirty and not updated. You cannot close the door to the bathrooms, which are never clean. You can’t hang up your clothes in the bathroom because everything is broken.
It was the cheapest one available, at a pretty fair price compared to what you get. It is fine for a very quick stay in the city and close to shops and transportation.
