Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everthing was great and clean, staff was kind and helpful, only thing is that we stayed at their partner hotel szent janos instead of ankavi because of renovations (which wasnt a problem for us)

United KingdomWe had to check in at another hotel around 1.5km away, which was unusual, and where we were given our instructions. The in room hotel information mentioned an “extended continental breakfast” but there is no breakfast in the hotel, we wandered down to a very agreeable coffee shop “Barista” just a few hundred yards away towards the city. We wonder how secure the rooms are - as we inadvertently discovered that the key for room 15 also fits room 14 and vice-versa. We suspect the keys also probably fit rooms 1-13 as well! Our son unfortunately suffered some insect bites on the first night - he used the other bed on the second night and didn’t suffer again. There is a pool, but at the time of our visit it contained just a few cm of green sludge.
The location was good for our needs and for us at least, a short walk into the city, and importantly had a lift, and private parking albeit at a nominal extra cost. We booked two rooms which were both large and airy, one having a balcony, the other just 3 Velux roof windows.

RomaniaFor the people who have a light sleep: the location is situated on a boulevard, and there is a tram on the bulevard, so it can get quite noisy, at least for the rooms facing the street.
Very close to the city center. Rooms are large, bathrom is large.

SpainSpiders in the room everywhere, not deep cleaning. The price was really expensive compared with value and commodity. Rude management, the manager checked how many towels were in the room when we were leaving.

SwitzerlandOverall, it was a poor experience: - We were charged €15 for the parking, even though it said on the description it's free. - There was no soap in the bathrooms/kitchen, even though it was one of the more expensive stays in the area. - The apartment was cleaned alright, but our balcony wasn't cleaned for weeks. So when we opened it, the wind blew in all the dirt. - The check-in is two kilometres away from the location. - The kitchen was not equipped, it didn't even have any glasses. - The air condition was broken and did not really cool the room. - The receptionist knocked already 15 minutes ahead of the check-out time at the door and asked us to leave.

United KingdomThe air conditioner was not working and the room was disgustingly hot. The door to the balcony was very difficult to open. There was no curtain in the bathroom to stop the water, and water was everywhere
The room was really big size and the balcony was amazing big.

SwedenI got a text massage before the arrival with just an address. Didn’t look it up but thought it was the address for the hotel. They asked me to give a notice before I arrived and I did. When we came there I got a new text message which said that the hotel was closed, and they asked me to go to a new place instead. They said it was a 10 min walk but actually it was 20 min and we had really heavy bags. Not a very good experience. The other hotel room had ugly lightning and not cozy at all. But I guess it was ok. Close to the bus station (even though we booked Ankavi because we wanted to be close to the railway station….).

RomaniaCould be a little warmer in the room. The temp control unit is not going to make a difference. Rooms should be visit daily by house keeper, at least for garbage bin emptying Breakfast option would be bnice also
Excellent located, with a nice inner yard and very big rooms, it ia an excellent choice. We stayed in a family suite, huge spaces and everithing you need. A full size fridge, good beds, even the sofa, 3 layer windows for enhanced sound insulation (the tram could be noisy for sensible people) are among the highlits. You can choose inner yard rooms if you have a problem with street noises

RomaniaWe arrived with the kids and were told that there are no rooms available. They accommodate to go to a pantio. We did not had any options as it was late and we were with kids.
Not had the chance to say I liked because when we arrived we were told our room was not available because of Booking "crash", although we had the confirmation. They arranged for us to go to a pantio.

United KingdomBed was too big for the room. Breakfast was not provided on the premises you had to go elsewhere. I didn't bother. Air conditioning but no remote so pointless. Satellite channels but only one English speaking channel which was CNN news. Shower flooded the bathroom every time it was used.
Well situated for the train station. 24hour reception. Tea and coffee making facilities.

HungaryThe noise. There is a tram line in front of the hostel which makes a weird sometimes annoying noise while it's running. But it's pretty ignorable
All in all, superb, no more words. I liked the place a lot. And the reception guy was cool. Easy to find the place and so comfy and clean
