Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Poland- The room was dirty - full of dust on the floor and shelves, same in kitchen. It was new on booking when we came so we thought it would be super clean. It was not! Also, there are stains from paint on the floor. - The matress is terrible - very hard, there are some metal parts inside you can feel on your body, the owner of this room should lay on it for 30 min and try themselves how bad it is. - THE BATHROOM IS SHARED WITH OTHER ROOM. this is not written clearly when booking the room. - When we arrived the router and fridge were disconnected. Nobody informed us about it. We saw internet is off and made the router work on our own, but we do not usually check behind fridge and the food we put inside went unfresh. -The description says the walls and doors are soundproof. They aren't! The walls and doors are thin like paper and you can hear the people in the 2nd room. -The description says there is microwave, electric kettle and set to make tea. Nothing like that in the kitchen! It's a lie! The owner should update the room description. - the rooms are smaller than the photos might suggest - the owner should provide how many square meters it is

SlovakiaIt's a complete scam, the owner just cheats people out of money, initially it was not even written that rented separate rooms in the apartment, not the apartment itself, and then when we arrived, in our room lived people, and the second room was closed, when we wanted to contact the owner of his number, which is listed, was not valid. After contacting the support service, after half an hour, the owner contacted us and sent us a message that our room was the second room, not the first, so we thought that he just confused us. We came in and in the room were someone's bags and things in the closet, we thought that it was the owners' things, put their things and went for a walk. When we returned at 23:10 we saw an elderly couple lying on the couch from the room of our neighbors. As it turned out they had a reservation from May 17 to 21, and we had from 18 to 19. They came and said that this is our second room, and in the room their things, that they from 17 to 18 slept and also not in this apartment where they have a reservation, because there was already someone living there, and they had to look for a new hotel for the night, and when they came back in the morning there was no one there, and they quietly brought their things went for a walk, and just we checked in at 15:00, that is, all checked into the same room, and did not return the money, as a result, we had to look for a new hotel at one o'clock in the morning. It was also very dirty, we had to clean the rooms, in the bathroom everything was damp and wet, the main doors to the apartment did not close in general. I do not advise you to contact this person and the apartment. This is just a divorce for money, and they do not care who to deceive, teenagers or elderly people. It's just awful.
The only thing I liked was the location of the hotel, near stores, subway stop

GermanyMost uncomfortable very loud bed. Walls too thin, you can hear everything. Front door to apartment doesn’t lock. Towels smelled very bad. Not at all what we expected from the pictures.

CanadaMaybe the checkout time 11.00 would be better ( now 10.00). becazse i like to sleep. but i asked the manager to stay longer until 11 and they accepted .
The apartment is in a modern new building top floor, everything is fancy and new and stylish. The apartment has a beautiful view to the lighted church at night. The kitchen was fully equipped and parking was easy.
