Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe walls were very thin I could hear the man next door and the floor really creeks. The bathroom floor was sticky. And the tap water pressure was very bad. There is no kitchen so no breakfast but there are loads of restaurants and coffee shops near by. From what I paid €81 it was worth it , it’s a lot cheaper than the nearby hotels! I don’t like hostels so this was perfect for me. There isn’t a lift in the building I was on the top floor (3rd floor) room 113 I had to go up 6 flights of stairs so it’s not wheelchair accessible. There wasn’t any side lamps in the room only the main light.
The location was amazing only around the corner from the centre and 6 mins away from the train station. The streets were noisy but you’d expect that from being so close to the streets, I didn’t mind as I live in London so I had no trouble sleeping but if you aren’t used to it I would either find a different property or get ear buds. The room was very clean and I got small bottles of shampoo and soap and a hair cap. There is a kettle with coffee and tea in the room.

United KingdomCould be cleaner. That's not to say that it was dirty, but for this price you'd expect more.
Location was excellent and the room was big enough and comfortable. But not the cleanest room and rather noisy as well.

United KingdomIt's the rudeness of the staff this time that prompted this review. I am very tolerant and have stayed in this problematic place many times because it's convenient, but the rudeness of the staff on duty, especially when combined with what they see fit to charge for a weekend night, is just not acceptable. Not all the staff in this place are rude some are pleasant but this time I arrived and they ignored me for five minutes, didn't greet me and snapped that I didn't have a booking. They continued this way despite the large amount they were charging, no welcome at all. They run the place as a migrant and homeless centre as well as a guest house and put the actual guests on the very top floor even if you email ahead and say you're disabled, so I got to the top floor and found there was no toilet paper and the shower drain was blocked. It wasn't worth going all the way back down just to deal with rude staff who would do nothing. And they really were rude. As is usual in this place, the walls are paper thin and the migrant family in the next room were horrendously noisy. Its not a place you can relax and enjoy a film in, and at the price I paid, it should be. I have to wear earplugs and headphones if I stay here. I've no doubt that speaking to the rude staff about the excessive noise which is usual here would be a waste of time. The television didn't work either, which is usual here as well. Don't expect basic comforts here, just bring your streaming device and watch online as WiFi is one of the only things that works. If you stay here, bring your own toilet paper and tea things and toiletries as they are extremely unreliable in what they provide and you may get toiletries or paper or you may not, you might be left with milk and sugar but not tea, or tea but no milk or sugar, no spoons or stirrers, and so on. The state of the room is hit and miss and you may have curtains that block out the light at the front or you may not.
Its convenient, which is why I stay despite the dangerous area.

IrelandThe bed sheets were dirty, but I didn’t notice until the next morning The neighbourhood is busy but a bit seedy. (I know Dublin quite well, so I recommend being cautious at night time, especially north of the river).

SpainNothing too major, but the water pressure in the shower was a bit low and the TV didn't work. Since it's an old building, there isn't an elevator, so if you are a person with reduced mobility, I wouldn't recommend this place to you.
After reading some reviews, I was a bit scared of what I would find, but the place is just enough for the price. I've lived some years in Dublin before and this is exactly what you would find when looking at apartments to rent in the city center: The building is old, but the room was clean, warm, and everything's doing its job. You can see they tried to make things nicer, like removing the old carpet from the rooms. It might not be the fanciest place, but it does the job for a short stay in the city and the location is great.
