Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This is a gem. A small country house in a very private setting with beautiful rooms and art. No televisions and the most beautiful location on the shores of Lough Arrow. Andy gave us some fantastic recommendations for restaurants nearby as well as info on local places to visit. Breakfast was excellent. Perfect for couples or anyone looking to chill. We’ll be back for a longer stay next time.

IrelandSmall things: the road is pothole central coming in, you really have to crawl in. We saw a big pile of stones so hopefully it’s getting filled soon! It would be handy to have a small table/shelf to leave beauty products on beside the sink (there is a ledge behind the loo, but I put my bag on the floor while getting ready)
This property is in the most amazing setting on a lake, the view was spectacular! Breakfast was divine too. T he room and en suite, and while house actually, are beautifully designed. And Andy is an angel

IrelandThe water wasn't hot for the shower, but I turned radiator off, so that may have had something to do with it... I didn't say anything to the owner as was on a schedule to leave...

IrelandNothing to complain about.
The location is stunning and the house is so beautifully decorated and rooms are perfect. My bed was so comfy. The host Andy was a pleasure to deal with and so helpful with information about the area and taxis, etc. The breakfast was genuinely beautiful, with location produce being promoted. Most of the guests that stayed the night I was there, and we were all going to a wedding nearby, said we would rebook another time of year.

IrelandFor anyone deliberating on booking this property - don't hesitate. I couldn't fault it. The house itself is beautiful, an old house that the owners have renovated beautifully, stylish and warm in the most beautiful setting overlooking the lake. We stayed there for one night because we were attending a wedding in Kilronan castle (15 mins drive away). My only regret is that we had limited time to enjoy Andresna house itself. It's the kind of place to chill with a partner or close group of friends. Enjoy the lake, or hikes, or beaches within driving distance. No pubs within walking distance though! But taxi service to and from Kilronan was grand, and easy organise. The house is very peaceful, with a nice garden around it and loungers out the front that if you had a book or glass of wine that you could easily relax and enjoy the setting. Myself, hubbie and 5 family members stayed, so we took up the majority of seats at the breakfast table the next morning which was very conducive to a long leisurely breakfast, in a room with gorgeous view, and a very impressive breakfast served. If you're staying for a night it ticks all the boxes, comfort, convenience all at a good price, but if you had more time it equally would be a lovely spot to set base to explore the surrounding area for a few days

AustraliaThe walls are quite thin so the noise travelled a little but this wasn’t a huge deal. I would have liked a bedside table but again this was a small issue.
The location was a little out of the way but offered a quiet oasis in a beautiful setting. The house and gardens are just lovely. The host was thorough and passionate about the property and surrounds.

United StatesThe house is a little far from neighboring towns (restaurants). We didn't feel as welcome there as in other bed and breakfasts where we stayed in Ireland. We were cautioned to stay away from the owner's dwelling because of the guard dogs. I am 73 years old and the owner made me feel like I was a small child about to break something in Granny's house. He was very uptight about breakfast proceedings.
The setting and the house was absolutely lovely. The breakfast was beautifully set out and delicious. The view over the loch, the cows in the next field, the country lane leading up to the house and the gardens exceeded expectations.
