Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe pool. As we booked this hotel especially for the pool it was very disappointing. My son who's 9 can swim a bit but the separate small pool was boring and when him and another little girl tried to take some floats to play with they were told they couldn't use them and had to put them bad. The main pool I would class as dangerous for kids. It's deep all over with no shallow end and the area that had steps and a shelf were kids could go. They either fell off the steps into the deep area were they couldn't stand up or they were blown into it by the bubble machine. There also seemed to be a waterfall that kids wanted to play with but it over hung in the deep area so they couldn't get to it. This meant that the children couldn't be left to play as all the parents we met had to stay with them for safety. Because everytime they either fell into or got blown into the deep area they had to get rescued. We had planned to use the pool twice on our stay but after the first go both me and my child decided it was to dangerous so we didn't go back to it again. Also the hot tub was for over 16s so the kids got told they couldnt go in there either. A bit bad from a child's point of view. Child was excited about there being a pool but disappointed as really the only area he could use safely was the very small shallow pool.
I liked the staff..the location and the sensory room.

United KingdomWe loved it but if being picky...blaring music from wedding party on ground floor heard on 2nd floor until 2am. Also no bath in family room and breakfast a bit of a dear add on (especially when hot water for tea wasn't hot!)
Great hotel, big rooms, comfortable, good food, large breakfast selection, excellent pool/health suite which was very clean, great bar staff, lovely and clean, late checkout time. Very accommodating moving our booking due to some unfortunate personal circumstances.

IrelandThe pool itself has some steps /seating areas within the pool and it can be very hard to navigate as it’s not clearly visible. You don’t notice until you hit it in the pool, So take extra care especially with children or vulnerable people. My daughter got really hurt by one of them.
The staff were extra lovely, which is so nice and refreshing. Staff were really welcoming and accommodating. Sensory room was an added bonus.

IrelandI didn't like that you need to book in advance to use the pool facilities. I tried a couple times to book over the phone or at reception as I was having difficulty using the website to book, both times I was told that the website was the only way to book. There were sweet wrappers and crushed biscuits under the bed that had not been cleaned before our arrival.
The hotel is located in a lovely area, the scenery from our room was beautiful. The room was really big and the beds are comfortable. We ordered at the restaurant and the food was lovely. The staff at breakfast were very helpful.

IrelandOnly toiletries provided are a combo body wash/shampoo and it is wall mounted by the sink and in the shower. The pump on the bottle was not working, so that was a little difficult. Some conditioner would be nice!
Bright, modern, and clean facility. Excellent Gym. Food from the bar was standard pub food and the staff were friendly. Perfect spot for a weekend baseball tournament in Ashbourne.

IcelandLocated on the outskirts of the town of Ashbourne, it's not hard to get around. I'm not sure about bus arrangements, as there were constructions nearby with a temporary bus stop. There is one next to the hotel, but the one I needed was a bit further away. Keep in mind that the hotel frequently hosts various events, so your Fridays might be a bit livelier with music. During my stay, there was an event with upbeat music, but I found it quite enjoyable and not at all bothersome.

IrelandLeisure centre was filthy. Towels, nappies and rubbish thrown around the changing room. People were walking around the pool in outdoor shoes making it all dirty and it was very slippy because the excess water wasn't swept into the drains. The pool was freezing and there was no lifeguard at all even though it was the children's time.
Lovely spacious room, beautiful rituals products in the bathroom. The hotel itself is spotless and the restaurant area is very nice.

United KingdomMy friend and I stayed here for a girls night. Our room had a double and a single bed, lots of space to hang clothes, make tea or coffee, iron clothes etc. The bathroom was warm, exceptionally clean, huge fluffy towels and Rituals products. We had dinner in 'Time' restaurant/bar and the food was very good as was the service. Reception staff were very friendly. Lovely atmosphere in hotel.

IrelandReception member upon check in was abysmal. Chatted to other staff member nearly the whole time checking in. Didn’t mention check out time, any info on breakfast times/location nor any Pool info of any kind. The pool could be doing with some basic floats as it is a family hotel and not having normal key type locks on the lockers is just daft, padlocks of all things! Toilet door in room was buggered as it wouldn’t even close shut, never mind lock.
Location and food/drink was very good. Pool was decent. All staff bar check-in reception member were excellent.
