Stair case is very steep, so not for anyone unsteady on their feet.

Beautiful setting at the edge of the park. So quiet and peaceful night. Beautiful fire! Great selection of books, roaring fire and delighted there was no TV. Breda that house keeper is absolutely amazing! Had lots of information about the property and surrounding areas!

The Bathroom,, as lovely as it is. The toilet seat was mad to close 🤣 and the shower/bath was an experience but brilliant to go back in time and wash your hair with a jug besides using the shower head. .

We loved the lodge, so spacious. It had everything you could need .. would advise a walk through the park to Castletown House for a wonderful walk and a delicious breakfast 😋

The sofa and armchairs were quite tired, stained and smelt bad, perhaps they need to be replaced. The whole place, although wonderful, would benefit from a deep clean and a fresh lick of paint. Little touches are lacking, and at the price being charged it's a pity, because such things can really elevate a property.

Batty Langley is a gorgeous property that is a wonderful step back in time. It's in a fabulous location, quiet and peaceful and yet close to town too. Breda was really lovely to deal with and very helpful. It was great to be able to bring our dog with us on holiday. The bed was very clean and comfortable.

Would have been great if there was an umbrella in the lodge. Ireland is wet!

I loved the lodge, a quiet retreat, no TV, no WiFi, very little mobile signal... Amazing read two books, ran twice in the grounds of the estate. Plenty of walks by the liffey. A real escape from modern life. Breda (the lodge warden) was fantastic, helpful, friendly and a mine of information.

Travelling for 12 hours by car and ferry to get there - but it was worth the journey!

Loved the location with its excellent walks in the gounds of Castletown house. Doggie friendly. Breda was a very helpful property manager with suggestions on places to visit. A comfortable and pleasant stay.

EVERYTHING! Amazing, unique accommodations. Great location. Castletown, Leixlip, Maynooth… all beautiful and charming. Dublin… just a half hour away. We loved this place for so many reasons and highly recommend.

secluded and has a characteristic you’ll find nowhere else in Ireland! Makes you feel like you went back 200 years back in time! Nothing like this ever experience and if you have a chance to book don’t hesitate!

It was an absolute privilege to stay in this 18th century building. So much history and character and so cozy for a winter break. Breda was a wonderful hostess. Loved it all.

It was so perfect , the only thing to improve my stay would have been a longer stay or a later check out.

I fell in love with this property online. Staying there was magical. It's beautiful and superbly furnished with sympathetic furniture and ornaments. I particularly liked the windows, the pictures, books, and the embroidered fire screen. The amazing windows look out onto parkland and the river. It was so nice to actually be in the parkland of an historic home. I did a guided tour of Castletown house which I recommend. Walks along the river and through park were beautiful. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Check in and out was very easy. The log fire - I hadn't intended to use - but it certainly was lovely to light each evening. I felt very happy and safe here and hope to return next year. There were shops, cafes etc within a reasonable walking distance, the property is at the edge of park and behind it is a lane. So very quiet and secluded in the evenings. I didn't go out in the evening- the property is somewhere you actually want to spend time in. No TV or internet. Nice bathroom - proper bath. A great experience.

I liked everything

The building and the setting in a parkland were just amazing. The house manager was friendly and helpful. The village was approximately 20 min walk across the parkland with shops and restaurants.

Location was perfect, in the grounds of Castletown House. Easy to find and no shortage of pubs, restaurants and bars.

The history and quirky exterior. The interior has that old feel of living in a bygone era.

Could use a shelf by the sink for pkacing toothbrushes and toiletries.

The grounds and Liffey walks are beautiful. It was so quiet at night. 5 minute drive to groceries and restaurants.

The nature of this property as a gatehouse to a park has drawbacks from many park users coming by, some looking in the windows and trying the door. The exterior is amazing so I didn't blame them for wanting to see inside! Only one bathroom which was upstairs. The stairs are very old and have tight turns with uneven steps, just be careful and take your time.

The historical aspect of this property was fascinating! The decor is all antiques, the windows are beautiful. Unit has a washer/dryer that worked well. Kitchen had all amenities needed. The bed was comfortable and clean. It was very quiet at night. The history in this area is amazing, check out the main mansion, Castletown, which is just across the park, the tour was jaw dropping!

The bathroom was very poor. Tiny, shabby, just a bath with a hand shower attachment, nowhere to put toiletries. I know that the Landmark Trust like to appoint their holiday lets in keeping with the property, which is part of their appeal, but they included a dishwasher, washing machine and fridges, so why not a reasonably modern bathroom?

Good location - on the edge of Castletown Park. Easy drive into Dublin and into the countryside. Lovely old Lodge.

Very clean. Piece of history. Great location. Very friendly and informative house manager. lovely to be able to take our dog Within easy reach of Dublin.
