Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandI can't criticise anything. It really was top quality.
Bellinter House is really beautiful. It was a very cold evening and after a long days work we saw our lovely, cosy room and great big bathroom and shower. Then off we went to the drawing room for dinner, we had excellent food while sitting at a big open fire. Couldn't have ask for more!

United StatesLast time we had dressing gown and slippers. Great coffee machine but no tea making facilities.
This was our second time to stay and we will stay again. Couple of little niggly issues but not a problem. Meal and breakfast were superb. Staff were brilliant.

United KingdomNothing I didn't like apart from a lack of phone signal which wasn't down to the hotel.
Everything went well at the Hotel, the hotel was really quirky which is something that appeals to us. We only had breakfast there as we were eating out at a friends house who lives close by. We did however have breakfast one morning which was lovely. Sadly we had to cut our stay short as my father had taken a turn for the worst and we had to return home. Amanda and the two guys on (early morning) reception couldn't have been nicer. We had planned to do all sorts of things but only managed to get to the Hill of Tara which was interesting.

IrelandService was chaotic at times. Staff need more training. The spa receptionist was borderline rude and absent for about 20 minutes while queues formed. We got our pre-dinner cocktails after our starter and there was some confusion about menus because there were about three different dinner menus on offer which seemed overly complicated
The food and spa treatments were excellent, the main house is beautiful, especially the ground floor drawing rooms. The spa is lovely. I had a fantastic massage. The hot tub and steam room worked really well.

Irelandonly think I could think of was if your having food in the lounge the chesterfields couch’s are low so may be take one of the high tables first and then move across. or maybe don’t order the pasta😂
it’s rare that so many original features are preserved. if your booking go knowing that it’s a piece of history and not a facade with all modern interiors. so a floor board my creak and you will have to use the stairs. but that the age of the building. a nice blend of a modern: classic style to it.

Ireland8am is too late for a breakfast when you are working and need to be on the road by that time. They kindly offered me a continental breakfast at an earlier point but a hot breakfast was what was needed on the cold morning I was there. If you are there for leisure then that late breakfast time would suit. The building is old but modernised. However, there was no desk for me to work off in the room, the coffee machine did not work properly, the soap dispenser pulled away from the wall with the first use on arrival and the shower head needs to be descaled. Individually these issues would not be a problem but collectively they were bothersome. I would have mentioned these points when I was checking out but it was too early when I was leaving to do so. I do have to emphasise that it was a very pleasant stay and would stay again.
The staff were very pleasant and the evening meal was delicious. Beautiful setting and location was easily accessed from the motorway. Gorgeous building with quirky design features throughout and yet a warm ambience with a lovely festive feel.

IrelandWe stayed in loft. It was a different to what we expected- pictures on booking.com very misleading. No where to hang clothes in bedroom.carpets very grubby and unhoovered - blue carpet and red carpet on stairs .Entance up to loft up stairs being used for storage area - brushes and mops on display ( not very welcoming) Had to stand on beds to open and close blinds on velux windows. No lift option - very steep stairs - very difficult and unsafe when carrying luggage.
French toast or pancake , eggs Benedict option would have been nice.
