Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesMy only negative would be that the bathrooms are definitely “tired.” Black mold along broken caulk around the tub. The tub itself was clean, but it too needs to be replaced. Treads half town off, and the drain didn’t drain well at all during showering. I was standing in 2 inches of water. (And I wasn’t taking a long shower). I will say that the water pressure was awesome. Big piece of paint peeling from the ceiling above the tub too. Thankfully the price during April wasn’t too bad in comparison to hotels on this level, but not worth anything higher in my opinion. I would stay here again, so the issues I pointed out aren’t deal breakers, I just wanted to give honest feedback to the hotel.
Friendly staff, location, comfortable.

United KingdomThe only niggle was at Christy’s bar because they forgot to have more dinner choices for vegetarians/vegans. I would expect at least 2 quality choices. The one choice offered seemed uninspiring compared to the other meals. The desserts were lovely though!
All Staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was lovely and the breakfast was excellent quality and there was a fab choice.

United KingdomThis hotel should have a 5 star rating, but apparently to achieve this, they need to provide Spa facilities. I loved everything about this Boutique Hotel, the surrounding settings, rooms, décor. I was disappointed that my stay was very short, 1 night, but when I'm that way again, I will be definitely coming back

IrelandI was alone in a king size room and would have liked the option of a cheaper room as it was almost the same price as what other family members paid to share.
The rooms have been redecorated since our last stay. As a family we love this hotel and the village in general. Staff are lovely.

United KingdomRoom was to the rear of the hotel and looked out onto a builder's yard - not at all noisy, and not really an issue, but rooms at the front have a nicer aspect. Walls between my room and adjacent room seemed a little thin (especially between bathrooms) but not a real deal-breaker as the hotel was very quiet.
Very welcoming experience on check-in. Food in Christys Pub (part of the Woolen mill complex) was excellent as was breakfast - serving staff were very friendly. Room was warm, clean with a big comfy bed. The hotel is an old woollen mill so the room had a lovely old arched window. Parking on site close to hotel was good. Wifi was good, bathroom (with a bath - very welcome) was spotlessly clean, and the room was made up every day. Looking forward to my next stay.

United StatesThe breakfast was delicious and the service was prompt. When you walk into the hotel, it smelled fresh and the decor was welcoming and very pretty. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We had dinner at Christys Bar that is on the property, and it was absolutely delicious. Great service. The property had plenty of parking and an easy walk to the Blarney Stone Castle. Highly recommend.

IrelandThe foyer is decorated so nice with comfy settees but NO BARMAN /LADY. the receptionist had to phone the restaurant outside to serve us our drinks. We only ordered 1drink each because of this. Terrible shame.
