Breakfast was good, not great. The front of the building could use some TLC. It does not do the rest of the property justice.

The setting is beautiful. The walk around the grounds is lovely. The restaurant/bar was very very good. The spa was a welcome relief after a long day of travel.

The house keeping was not that great. I had to ask for items that should have been kept in the room by default.

The staff were nice, polite and friendly. The location was tranquil. Great place to relax and unwind. Perfect.

The blackout blind for the room was in a deep recess so very difficult to reach if you are only 5'4 like myself . A lot of work in refurbishment going on at the time so quite noisy outside but then that's to be expected when there are a lot of workmen around and not the hotels fault

As there was a mix up in the rooms initially on checking in we were given chocolates and a small bottle of prosecco for the inconvenience. The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast was plentiful and the dining areas were very pleasant. The location and grounds are very pretty and would certainly stay here again, didn't get chance to use the spa and pool but it looked very relaxing

I found the bed very soft, would prefer a mattress to be more firm rather than sink into a mattress

The room was really cold and there was not a lot of tea bags or coffee there for a late or early cuppa.

Breakfast was really goo, plentiful and varied, the room was clean and spacious, the bedding was lovely, dinner was plentiful and delicious.

I didn’t like how the accommodation staff burst into the rooms in the morning, one tap on the door as they’re already opening the door. We decided to Avila of the late check out option and rang reception to confirm this. We placed the do not disturb sign on the door and multiple times accommodation staff burst into our room. No sense of privacy, no consideration that would could be changing etc when they’re bursting in. A do not disturb sign is on the door for this reason.

Food could be a bit better and with more choice. We wanted to have a steak dinner and the only option was the sirloin steak and it was very chewy. The room service has a surcharge of €5 per person which was very odd to me.

Nice clean hotel and Spa, with all amenities you need. Location is very nice next to the lake which you can walk to. The staff is very nice and helpful. Full Irish breakfast in room was delicious.

Only down point was I asked for Heineken 00 and was told it was frozen, was charged 7.90 for a bud shandy with sprite as the shandy part. I felt it could have been charged as a pint of 00 . Everything else was fine
