How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Toilet was noisy at night in the bathroom.
Location and period design. Nicely secluded in town centre. Really enjoyed the voya products in my room.

The little kettle was full of old water that had scummy stuff floating around in it, the carpet in the bedroom was all marked and dirty, the shower wasn’t great (no pressure) and the tap and shower thing on the bath was broken- the shower would spray even when flicked off. Some bits quite tired -bathroom door chipped and peeling, some of the furniture is stained/marked.
The house is beautiful, the bedroom is huge and the bathroom is just gorgeous. Lots of space, lovely features, huge comfy bed, great breakfast, loved how secluded it felt but just a path away from a great pub.

Internet connectivity in the rooms was patchy. Upstairs rooms only suitable for guests who don't have issues with stairs.
Wonderful setting, large rooms, beautiful interiors, staff very friendly and helpful. We had the 2 rooms on the upper floor and enjoyed the additional "living space" with a table and a book shelf between those 2 rooms. Staff offered us a room in the main building and cutlery to eat our take-away dinner!

The owners or team need to include a very essential piece of info missing in the message we get, which is where to get the keys from, because boyne house has no reception we have to walk to the other location which can get confusing bit has a very simple solution.
Love the property, love the Jane Eyre-esque feel of the house. Its so calm and pretty. Really ideal for a city escape.

No drawers for clothes. Shower -ugh - water spilled put over entire floor, treacherous. Blaring green light above door that kept us awake. Not a single restaurant open in slane! That is ridiculous. As a hotel with a restaurant, you have an obligation to be open. Instead we ate bad takeout on the bed....

Nearly didn't book this hotel due to it's bad reviews. But seen that on google maps the reviews were a lot better we gave it a try. We were really happy with our room in one of the outhouses on the back. The staff was really friendly. The hot water in our room didn't work but when we asked at the reseption if the could sort this, they tried to fix it but couldn't get a plumber out in time so we got a 50% refund on our stay witch was really fair.

The bed was extremely comfortable. The decor was beautiful and it was very clean. The shower had great pressure and the added toiletries were of good quality. The rooms are private and within a courtyard that is beautiful.

The only problem was the toilet was broken, it kept refilling with a very loud noise. Thankfully I had ear plugs with me but if I didn’t it would have been very difficult to sleep over it. The bathroom also had a damp musty smell, presumably as a result of broken toilet.
The property itself and location were great.
