Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesA beautiful working farm. Pretty sure the “tiny homes” we stayed in were brand new. Very nicely appointed in a Scandinavian style. Plenty of room for our family of 3 with two full baths, apartment sized washer, dryer, fridge, etc.

United KingdomIt was only one night. I would like to stayed longer and enjoy all the space the house has to offer us.
The best place I stayed in Ireland. The house is big, a big bedroom, big bathroom, and conjugated big living room/kitchen. That was amazing. Everything so clean, far from the city and close to the nature, very silent. My husband usually has problem in sleeping, but he slept very well in this place. I definetely saved this place to stay again when I come back to Ireland (we have friends living in a city close to this location, which is perfect for us). One more thing: we got very late for check-in and we call them to let them know we were going to be late. The staff was very friendly and fully understood our situation.

Absolutely fantastic place! We booked this for 4 people to attend a family celebration. We stayed in a Pod which was lovely. The quality of the furniture and the fittings was of a very high standard. Beautiful lamps, rugs etc. The beds were hugh, very comfortable and had beautiful bed linen. The Pod was exceptionally clean and very well equipped. The outside area is beautiful, peaceful and very well maintained. A much appreciated welcome pack of bread, eggs, jams, butter and coffee was a lovely surprise. We couldn’t recommend this property highly enough.

United KingdomNothing.
We stayed in The Wedgwood Cottage which was superb. It had everything we wanted & it was a lovely touch for Deidre to put milk, butter & jam in the fridge. She also supplied eggs & bread which we weren’t expecting. The location is fantastic & beautiful in spring.

United KingdomLocation is perfect for a rural escape. Unfortunately we couldn’t easily get cabs in and out to the town which put a dampener on things. Bit too rural for our plans unfortunately. Car hire essential!
Gorgeous decor, comfortable beds, showers, living room. Great customer service from the owners.

United StatesAs we wanted to be near the airport prior to our return back to the U.S. but avoid the city given the ongoing challenges of COVID, this was an ideal, and beautiful location. We were able to easily fit in an excursion to Trim castle as well as the Hill of Tara to top things off. The B&B is situated in a beautiful setting, and Deirdre was a splendid hostess (and prepared a scrumptious breakfast).

IrelandOnly 2 small jars of shower gel that had also to be used as soap for 2 people should have been more available in the room.
Breakfast was not available. It didnt state this on the booking site that i could see. I only noticed it in the small print of the confirmation after i paid that said breakfast no longer available. Should have been made clearer as cancelling meant no refunds. Otherwise place was lovely. B&B should have breakfast or state clearly room only rates like hotels..

South AfricaWifi connection poor. Objective was to visit Dublin. It takes quite some time to get to Dublin by bus making the day in Dublin very short. Many historic sights close by. Be aware to book for these well in advance.
Lovely rural environment. Quiet. Owner friendly and helpful. Place very clean. Excellent self catering set up. Much preferred staying in the country than in Dublin. Car essential. Close by town of Trim attractive and practical for shopping.

IrelandThe location itself is a little far out from any amenities, if you don't drive you may struggle. We found it difficult to get cabs. Other than that, couldn't fault it!!
The apartments were super clean & modern. The bed was incredibly comfy. There was fresh bread, milk and eggs which was a really great touch!
