How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Had we known how good the property was we would have happily booked a second night but unfortunately we are on a trip and already had our accommodation pre booked.
The location was excellent and our hostess Ann couldn’t do enough for us. The kitchen was so well supplied, we had everything we needed, milk, butter, jams, selection of teas and coffees and also biscuits. The bathroom was lovely. The property was tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Great location, good value and very clean and comfortable! Little cereal boxes, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc were a nice touch. Microwave, kettle , toaster all very useful.

This property is a very comfortable and very well equipped home from home to stay in, and in a lovely location. "You would happily live here" was my adult daughter's reaction after the first night. Also, it was spotlessly clean! The host was really pleasant and helpful!! Altogether a great place to stay for a short break or holiday. We intend to return there.

Perhaps a newer shower, but it worked perfectly.
Very well equipped for cooking. Even had cereal for breakfast, tea & coffee. Lovely couple. Value for money. Spotless. Loads of towels. Lovely outside area.

The owner met us at the agreed time. She showed us around the house and explained how the various things worked and where we found them. A very pleasant and helpful person who clearly does the utmost to ensure that the guests are comfortable.

The apartment was spacious and very well equipped. The host was great and she showed us her place and explained everything. She was very friendly and allowed us to check in late. Clean, comfortable place to stay. It was a great place to stay if you drive toward Dublin as it's only 1 hour drive away from Dublin.

Everything was fantastic, it was close to the Slieve Bloom Mountains and it was a perfect place to stay, got take away food without a problem also for they knew were the property was. The hosts were really caring and good people, house was a whole spacious flat with outside areas as well and good parking space.

Couldn't find towels or missed that there was none although I know I could have easily checked with owner but we just used our own. Nearly went into next door as sign into property is a little misleading but understand location there such that it can be seen coming around the bend in road!
We stayed for one night only so it was great to have litre of fresh milk in fridge and some breakfast cereals, plenty tea/coffee and snack bars. Nice touch. Great space in house and also garden great for children. Its safe and private. Lovely welcoming hostess

Having to leave
Absolutely fantastic stay in Brielle house. The pictures don't do it justice. Ann and her husband were the most helpful host. Had some beautiful little touches and treats in the house to welcome us when we got there, even had some toys for our daughter. I couldn't recommend this place more. The hosts have gone above and beyond!

Only issue was we could only stay for one night due to commitments and the day we were there was a holiday so less was open in the area than normal, would have liked at least one more day to explore the area.
Very welcoming and helpful. Accommodation was really great with lots of character. Off-street parking was large, and while the driveway was tricky, our host helped us out. Lovely spring flowers in the garden.

There were no sign of heating on at all and cold the next morning 26th of March. I had a shower to heat up. Easy to sort though.
