Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandWe liked the bar food in the Waterside Bar which was really comfortable. Only worry was it sometimes closes at 6pm for bar food.
The staff were lovely and so helpful. It was a lovely peaceful location very relaxing.

IrelandNo air con in the rooms. I got a fan and the weather hasn't been great so it wasn't too bad but it would be roasting in the summer. The bar and cafe stopped serving food at 5 and 6pm so the only options for dinner are the Strawberry Tree and the Italian restaurant, La Taverna Armento. The Italian was fabulous, we went there twice but we booked the Strawberry Tree last minute and felt a bit disappointed by it, especially for the cost. They also had NO vegan options and nothing they could just prepare, I was mortified but was part of a group and I was trying to disappear. I think if you let them know in advance then you'd be ok but really surprising that such a nice place can't cater for all dietary requirements.
Beautiful place to stay. The rooms, restaurants, bars and walking areas were all fabulous. All the staff were so super friendly. The two pools are great, and the jacuzzis are a really relaxing option after a long hike. My room was 316 with a door that opened up to a river, and I had some great sleep there, it was so peaceful. There was a wedding one night and I didn't hear anything. The bed is very comfy and and room is very clean. Great big bathroom. Robes and slippers are supplied. Tea and coffee in the room too. The location is fantastic. We went on some great hikes nearby, short drive to many great places. Breakfast was fab, hot food you can order and then loads of other items you can get yourself like granola, fruit, yogurt, fresh bread and cheese, croissant etc. loads of juices too. We used the snooker room one evening, great option to have at the hotel.

United KingdomFood options on the day of arrival which was a Sunday we had already eaten so we would only have needed a snack but according to the person on reception all this closed about 6 pm and it was only the the main restaurant available so we went to the local chippy second night Monday we went into the lounge to the right we did have a drink and my husband had his favourite apple crumble and ice cream the girl serving was great it’s just a pity we didn’t know it was available the evening before at reception on arrival my Revolut card would not work but perhaps that was because my phone was not at that point connected to the wi go
Breakfast was great very efficient staff and all are wants catered for l looking forward to returning but will bring appropriate clothing for the spa

IrelandNot huge issues but just things to be aware of. The pub and hotel bar stop serving food by 6pm which leaves only 2x restaurant choices for dinner. Would be great if this info was in your room. Strawberry Tree was very disappointing for the cost, they should review the quality of the food & service, at €78 pp. The chairs in this restaurant are also very uncomfortable. My only small grip with my room is there was only 3 plug sockets and none anywhere near the beds so I couldn't charge my phone at night & one was near the door low to the floor. USB should be considered as an upgrade around the beds. We only discovered there was a snooker room the last day as no sign on the door for it. The hydrotherapy pool & small gym is in another building to the main hotel and again it would be great if a map or info was in your room but asking the staff also works I guess but I'd prefer to be not annoying them all the time.
The staff are amazing! I can't fault any of them. In particular Aoife on the front desk. Beds are very comfortable, and amongst my friends we had 4 very different rooms and I'd have been happy to have stayed in any of them. Food & drinks in the main hotel bar are excellent. In hindsight we would have only eaten there for the few days. Pools & spas are great and very quiet mid week.

IrelandThe receptionist on duty for check in and check out was very cold. He wasn't forthcoming about general information-No mention of the planned electricity shortage they were experiencing that day. No mention of some spa facilities being out of order. Residents bar was a little dated.
Strawberry tree staff were amazing. Spa receptionist was very friendly. All food was excellent. The room was quirky but lovely

IrelandFrom the hillside atmospheric entrance to the sound of running water outside the bedroom window and everything in between. This place has it all if you want to feel like a bond Villian in his Lavish Palace. With 5* Michelin level cuisine and the condescending level of support from the waiters when my etiquette fell short... Truly a breath taking experience
