How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Everything, house was comfortable clean . Hosts welcoming there was milk and bread and fruit waiting for us it was like home from home easy to find yet quiet if this house is close to where you need to be snap it up

The cottage was very spacious and clean. All mod cons available in the cottage. Valerie and Fintain were lovely hosts and very accommodating. Gave us use of their garden for our kids to play in. Close to all the main attractions. Nice quiet area.

There is nothing we didn't like we had the best holiday.
We loved our stay at brownstead cottage what can I say fintan and valarie were the most welcoming hosts and I can't thank them enough for what they dine for us I have been on holidays before but I have never walked into such a clean spotless most comfortable holiday home ever we even got some welcoming tea coffee bread butter and cheese just what we needed to get our holiday started. Coffee first 😋 I can't say enough about the cottage and the hosts we will diffently be back again our children didn't want to leave.

On our way home from an amazing weekend, attending a family wedding. Brownstead Cottage is in a beautiful location, and our hosts Valerie and her husband, couldn't have been more helpful - driving us to the wedding venue, and full of knowledge of the area. Will hopefully return again soon x

Weather could have been a bit drier but we can't do anything about that.
Location was perfect for travelling around the Boyne Valley and was also nice and quiet. In easy reach of Navan for essential shopping. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Nothing not to like.
Like home from home. Everything you could wish for. Nice rural setting and friendly hosts who provided a full fruit bowl and gave us plenty of ideas of what to visit locally and we managed them all. Used as a base for Bellewstown racing which was a short drive away. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the area and our accommodation and would definitely recommend.

The only thing I can think and it's trivial... there weren't many channels on the tele.
House was perfect. Home away from home. All the amenities you needed, fresh milk, wheaten and jam provided for us. Kids loved the back garden, especially the sand box and fish pond! Loads of extra bedding and towels provided. Would definitely return to stay the next time we are going to Emerald Park!

Everything about our stay was perfect. House was comfortable and had everything you need. Lovely extras- fruit bowl filled with fruit, loaf of fresh bread, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and butter/jam. There was even spices for cooking. Beds were really comfortable, had excellent night sleep. Proper cot (not just a travel cot) for baby was set up and even had a little duvet in it and music to help baby sleep. There was loads of storage in bedrooms to put clothes away. Kitchen really well equipped. Large sofa in living room. Few board games too which kids enjoyed, Guess who, cluedo, chess board. Finally, access to beautiful large enclosed back garden, really child friendly. Son enjoyed swings, slides, trampoline, kids den. Great location, we enjoyed trips to Emerald Park, Funtasia, Hill of Tara, Bettystown beach, Navan leisure centre swimming pool, Blackwater park and Navan shopping centre. Hope to be back someday

Two bedrooms with one double bed in each room. There’s a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, (although we didn’t need for two nights stay). Beautiful garden to enjoy. Excellent broadband.

Our stay at the cottage was amazing, our hosts went above and beyond to help us in so many ways. They were lifesavers! It was such a warm welcome and we will always remember their amazing hospitality. The cottage itself was the perfect stay, with a lovely garden in the back as well! We hope to stay again someday!
