Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere was nothing that we didn’t like. Everything was perfect.
Quiet, beautifully maintained surroundings with a very pleasant walking path to and along the banks of the river. The buildings were wonderfully well kept, the interior decor was tasteful and the beds were incredibly comfortable . We had an amazing night’s sleep and the shared bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was delicious with an incredible choice to suit all palates. Thank you Valerie for a very hospitable stay.

AustraliaShared bathroom, but it was not an issue for our stay as it was available when needed.
Lovely view across the river and district. The hosts make you feel at home. Val makes the best Irish breakfast, much better than a hotel. No loud people or parties, quiet country side feel is key to enjoying your stay. If you like fishing, Jason has you covered. Family vibes, nice people.

United StatesMy girlfriend and I stayed here for a last-minute accommodation and we are glad we did. It was very late when we ended up getting there, but Valarie made us feel at home right from the start. She even went and made tea for us, which was extremely welcomed after all the travel that day. Our room (#1) had a beautiful view of the river and surrounding hills. When we were up in the morning, we each had a full Irish breakfast that was very well made (also cereal and other options). Checkout was quick and painless (since we paid online) which gave us time to shower and chat with Valarie before leaving. We fulling intend to comeback the next time we are in Ireland and I'm going fishing.

United StatesI was surprised as I thought I’d booked an en-suite bath, but it didn’t detract from the amazing rime we had. Our host was wonderful and the views insane! The breakfast was over the top yummy. I wish I had booked two nights to explore the area.

What a lovely home, beautiful grounds, excellent breakfast. Valerie was extremely nice and welcoming even though we checked in late. In the morning we enjoyed walking around the grounds and River. Valerie was so pleasant and informative. She took the time to teach my son how to maneuver the roundabouts.

United KingdomWas a shared Bathroom, which I didn't realise, but that was my fault for not reading the details properly. Was still clean and fine, so all good.
Great host, A beautiful place, a little off the beaten track, but lovely. Would be wonderful in summer as River at bottom of land, where picnics and BBQs can be had.

CanadaIt would be nice to have a private bathroom, but of course understandable that the house isn’t set up for that
Everything about this B&B was fantastic! The house is quaint and comfortable. The property is beautiful and offers stunning views as well as the opportunity to go for a walk to the river for a wonderful sunset view. We were lucky enough to get a corner room with two huge windows to enjoy the scenery and hear the horses and cows! Breakfast was delicious as well. To top it all off, Jason & Valerie were extremely warm and inviting. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you! P.S. We would also recommend Cafe Bella in Fermoy for dinner! Delicious Italian food!

United StatesIt isn't something that the facility didn't provide but because we did not read the description carefully, we didn't realize that there were shared bathrooms. I was fine because no one was staying in the room next to us, so we didn't have to share, but the other people we were traveling with had to share a bathroom with two gentlemen. They were a little apprehensive at first but it ended out fine because the gentlemen were so respectful of the situation.
Cable Island was in such a beautiful location. It was the one place we took time to spend at the facility and enjoy the views. There were plenty of places to sit outside and relax. Valerie, the hostess, went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and answer any questions we had. The rooms were very nice and clean. Breakfast was included and delicious.

United StatesWonderful, very accommodating hosts. Good breakfast. This is a beautiful location nestled in a small valley. The river blackwater is just below the property and includes a walking trail. Great views, very peaceful. It has a shared bathroom so plan accordingly. It is also close to Fermoy, a small town with pubs and restaurants. We chose a variety of accommodations on our trip. We chose this one because it was in a quiet country setting, but close to a town. Stayed two days. Fermoy can be a bit busy as there are several schools there, so plan accordingly when visiting. Plenty to explore in the region.

RomaniaAccess to the river is not for mobile impaired people. The steep is too harsh and there’s no steps or handrail to use. The property is remote so there’s no ammenities readily accessible but there is plenty of tea, coffee and booze available.
The place is awesome. A river to fish, quiet, guest room fitted to anyone’s needs. 4g data works without a problem and the wi-fi fills in the gap.
