Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe were greeted by Michelle and Tippy (the dog) who was very friendly and left us to settle in. We had 2 dogs with us who loved the field beside us for a run around. Everything was comfortable and clean. The local guide was very handy and visited as much as we could in our time there.
If you want peace and quiet in the middle of nowhere, this is the perfect spot. However, there's no shops near by and the restaurant/pub 1 mile away wasn't open. That's not the owners fault obviously and we found a small village a short drive away.

IrelandThere’s not much to not like. The map reference I was given took me to the wrong place so probably best to use the main house’s Eircode on your SatNav. It was a bit tricky to find to begin with. The shower had plenty of hot water but wasn’t as powerful as I like, that’s just personal preference. And because it’s a tiny place I wouldn’t want to stay there for too many days at a time, there’s nowhere to sit and relax except for the beds, and only a tiny fridge and no cooking facilities. However for what we wanted it was perfect.
This is a delightful little cabin in a very peaceful location with gorgeous countryside views. The beds were very comfortable and the heater warmed up the place quickly. Michelle was speedy with her replies to my questions and although there was a problem with the septic tank on the day she got it sorted out in time. It made for a great bolt hole for our one night in Sligo.

United KingdomNothing to dislike. Traveller - read the description properly before booking.
Cosy cabin for 2 set in stunning countryside with lovely views. Carrowkeel Monolithic site just up the road. The cabin has comfy beds and a good shower. No cooking facilities (just kettle and toaster) but a nice veranda to sit on and drink wine and eat hummus 😁. No TV no WiFi- bliss. Wonderful stay.

United KingdomCouldn't fault it at all.
The cabin was absolutely beautiful, the decor and presentation of everything was flawless, the host was just so lovely to talk to, and the private garden out the front is a lovely touch. Really enjoyed having a cup of tea and bun on the balcony the next morning. Absolutely loved our stay here.

IrelandThe cabin was fully kitted out with everything you could need. Lovely, charming little place and very quiet and relaxing. Very good hosts. We accidentally left a mobile behind and were notified promptly. Would definitely stay again. My tip for anyone staying was if you wanted to have dinner and drinks in McDermotts up the road, would be to organise transport home early as we were left waiting for a while-not that that took away from our great experience staying at the cabin. Would definitely return!

IrelandSet in the Sligo hills, the cabin provided two beautifully relaxed days. It rained almost constantly but that didn’t deter the experience at all. In fact it enhanced it. Two days spent reading and relaxing in this beautiful location. Owners are not far away and ready to assist with any requirement. A perfect place to unwind and spend quality time.

IrelandTop class place to stay. Walking distance to Carrow Keel Megalithic Tombs, 15 min drive to Keash Caves, 25 mins to Strand Hill for the Queen Maeve burial tomb historical path. Perfect location for all these breath taking historical sites. There's a pub/restaurant 5 mins down the road or some takeaways in a local village Ballymote 15 mins drive away. Highly recommend "Cactus" mexican restaurant there. Food was fab 🙌👍 or if your feeling adventurous there is a cute little BBQ area just off the side of the cabin. Michelle the owner was so nice and very helpful we even had daily visits from her little dog and cat 😁. Very cosy and comfortable little cabin with everything you need for a short break. First impression was we were in the middle of no where when we first got there but we were actually in the centre of everything that we had planned to do. Michelle also has a very helpful booklet printed up with all the local ammenties. 👍 Really really enjoyed our stay and will definately be booking this little treasure again.
