You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaNo shared space or kitchen facilities (except a kettle in the room) & no breakfast. So you have to expect to eat out every day. Ok for short term but wouldn’t be ideal for long term. They mentioned they were undergoing renovations so hopefully this includes a kitchen.
The bed was comfortable. Free parking available on site. The walk into town was pleasant - 20-25 minutes on an easy well lit footpath. There’s also a few cafes by the water (under 5 mins walk). There were a couple of basic amenities missing when I checked in (toilet paper and bin) but when I mentioned this, they were promptly provided.

United StatesI wondered if the people who owned the place lived far away and were neglecting the property. Outlets did not work in my room, and the staff provided me with an electric cord that was helpful. The place felt neglected. Bathroom amenities were supposed to be provided and were not - only hand soap. It made me wonder about the owners.
The staff were wonderful. Very helpful. The location was great.

CanadaThere is no public transportation in Westport and taxi service seems hit and miss so you are looking at a 15 minute walk into town. Also they do not serve breakfast here. Proprietors are friendly but you have to go and find them for things like more towels tea bags instant coffee packets etc. When we arrived the young woman had to phone the owner to see what room we were in so it all seemed rather disorganized.
It was clean and very close to Clew Bay and Westport House.

United StatesThe management needs to keep better communication with their customers! I wasn’t advised about how to check in & get keys, use the on demand water heater (you pull an old fashioned light switch string!) or what the Wi-Fi password was.
Ceol Na Mara is in a good location. Based on past reviews I was afraid it was going to be a dump but it was nice, clean and comfortable if a bit worn & homely.

NetherlandsThe room was spacious but quite plain - fine for a short stay. The curtains were made of very light fabric and lights from the street shone right through, not great if you are sensitive to light. We thought breakfast would be provided as it’s a BnB but sadly this wasn’t the case. Wouldn’t recommend staying here if you come by public transport. It’s a 40 walk to the train station and 25-30 minutes to the town.
The host was helpful, she looked up the bus schedule for the Achill Island bus. The bed was comfortable (although it was very squeaky). Wifi worked well.

Unfortunately there was no breakfast despite being advertised as a Bed & Breakfast establishment. The lady was very nice but quickly told me they didn't do breakfast. Apparently this was on google the lady told me but I hadn't read this as it quite clearly says Bed & Breakfast, very disappointing to find out no breakfast as this is part of the experience of staying in a B & B.
