Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesRoom was very hot when we checked in, we had to open windows to cool it down. No AC in the room.
Very nice inn in quiet little town just off M11 motorway near Wicklow. We stayed there so we would not have a long drive to Dublin airport in the morning. Fish and chip dinner in restaurant was outstanding and the breakfast in the morning had many options, be sure to try the porridge.

United StatesNot able to control the heat, needed to open window. They gave us a fan which solved the problem. Would be nice if there was a chair instead of just bed to sit on. There is a small stool for the vanity table.
Everyone was friendly. Breakfast was in the restaurant & included in our stay. It was good. Not many choices in Ashford to eat. We had dinner two nights in the pub/lounge downstairs and that worked out fine. Location for touring was good. Near Glendalough & Wicklow Mountains National Park. Just few minutes walk to Mount Usher Gardens which were very nice. Plenty of parking.

IrelandComfy bed, clean room. Great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant and the food was gorgeous. Breakfast was amazing, it was far better than your standard breakfast you usually get in a hotel. Every single member of the staff we dealt with was so nice and helpful and they really couldn't have been any better. We loved our stay.

IrelandBar closed at 10.50 pm on the Friday night without warning. there were still a number of people in the lounge at that time. Barman was unpleasant which wasn't a nice end to our otherwise lovely day.
Food was fabulous. Dinner and breakfast the next morning - great choice on both menus. Very pleasant restaurant staff.

BelgiumThe only remark we can give is the room having to much light in the night coming from the front parking.

United StatesLovely people, very hospitable. Nicely furnished, good food, good ambience. i recommend the garden down the road, which learned about from a friendly local guy sitting next to us at the restaurant. It was our first night in Ireland and we really appreciated the warm welcome to your country.

IrelandThe accommodation was about 15-20 percent more expensive than I thought it should be (more expensive than a night in a fancier hotel in a more central location in Dublin itself). Dinner was substantial but could have been nicer (far too much microwaved cheddar cheese on the potatoes, and the crust for the baked goats cheese seemed a bit artificial) but the breakfast was lovely. There was a family near our room who let their young child be very noisy for about two hours very early in the morning, and another guest had a conversation at top volume in the corridor after midnight. This is not the Inn's fault, but maybe some low-key signs in the corridors would be useful asking people to be respectful of other guests' wish to have a good night's sleep (and mention "quiet hours", e.g 11 p.m to 8 a.m).
Lovely staff, comfortable clean bedroom, very good breakfast cooked to order, with a nice range of options, including for vegetarians, though no specific veggie breakfast. Decor of the breakfast room was cosy yet spacious, like a traditional pub. Fabulous location opposite Mount Usher gardens (world class, and a favourite with people like Monty Don!). Not to be missed! Within a short drive of the equally fabulous extensive gardens at Kilmacurragh (those ones are free of cost, and both are amazing). Service station with useful goods very close by (we had forgotten toothpaste and realised at 8pm, and the service station had some and was open). Would stay again despite being unlucky this time with the noise of other guests at unsociable hours.

IrelandHonestly there was nothing I didn't like. It's not the plushest hotel I've ever been in, but it is certainly the friendliest
I booked Chester Beatys for a weekend with close friends (2 of whom travelled from UK). From the time we walked into the bar, we knew we were going to have a ball. I have NEVER been in a hotel that all the staff looked like they were on a weekend away. They were all very nice. We said to a couple of staff, "how come you are all so happy" The reply we got was that the owners were very good to the staff. On meeting the owners who were always around chatting to guests, I asked what do you do to keep your staff so happy. I was told they have a great team and they respect them and what they do. Food was amazing I would highly recommend the hotel and our group are organising our next trip there. Veronica Finn Dublin

United StatesUnfortunately, it was unusually hot during our stay, but the host provided a fan so it ended up being just fine.
We enjoyed our stay, we were attending a wedding nearby, and this was a perfect place to stay. The breakfast is generous and tasty. The hosts are very attentive. And we enjoyed a drink in the bar.

AustraliaMinor thing - a downlight in the bathroom was blown (108) which made the bathroom pretty dark.
Room was great and food was also great! Left my backpack in the car park. Padraig went above and beyond to help us recover the situation. Huge gratitude!!
