The rabbit warren of stairs - oh my lord! Look, it’s not great for those with mobility issues or those lacking a sense of direction. Also not great with large heavy suitcases. With hindsight, I’d recommend that if you’re travelling with a car to leave your suitcase in there & just have a backpack with the necessities to take to your room. It will make the process much easier overall for you.

I loved the charm of this place. Sure it’s old, a bit of a rabbit warren & a LOT of stairs, but there was a certain quaintness that you can only get at a location like this, with the history it has. The included breakfast was delicious & plentiful, & the restaurant / bar staff were helpful, friendly & attentive. Location was great - easy access to the town centre.

Lack of sockets in the room.

There was water, crisps, chocolate in the room on arrival. Lovely touch. We stayed there for a night out so we didn't spend much time in the room. But it was exactly what we needed.

Overpriced as all hotels were in Kilkenny this weekend for Springsteen concert so at other times I expect good value for money

Lovely old hotel with real character. Excellent breakfast included. Central location close to bars restaurants and tourist attractions

The windows were frosted and I couldn't see outside. Also, the window did not open more than a couple inches and it was warm, would have preferred more fresh air. Shower pressure was like a trickle and the sink didn't provide warm water, there was a cold faucet and a hot faucet. Also some of the sockets should be converted to USB/USB-C ports. WiFi signal was weak, at least in my room.

Staff was amazing, so was location, desk fan in the room was a big help. Very comfortable bed.

It’s a charming old property but could do with a few updates. Tv in my room was ancient and poor selection of channels. No USB port to charge phone. WiFi was useless and I had to rely on mobile data. Lots of stairs but few handrails.

Great location and friendly, helpful staff

The waitress need to serve up drinks immediately once a guest is sat and then they accept the the food is being prepared but to ignore for up to 20 minutes is unacceptable

The food was good and very well prepared and cooked but the waitress service for breakfast was chaos , think they need some training on time management. Not only ourselves but many guests were left hanging for even after sat for a beverage or our order taken.

Decor is a little tired and dated . the shower flow in our room no.18 was weak.

Staff was so friendly and helpful from the reception desk to the bar. The girls managing breakfast Sunday morning 28/04/2024 were exceptional.- friendly and no issue with coffee refills /extra toast. They really were great. Really central location - near all bars, shops etc

Great location and walkable but don't choose this hotel if you have mobility issues. Many stairs.

This building would be REALLY tough for anyone who had mobility issues. I counted 9 sets of stairs and 7 turns between the carpark and my room (in the 30's) The water pressure was bad... like only a trickle from the shower. It wasn't a deal breaker for me but I sure didn't like it.

The location in town was great and the staff was friendly; the building had a certain charm for me, but it wouldn't for many. *To find the car park: Use GPS/Waze to go to Trade Electric on Lower New Street. The entrance is just to the left of Trade Electric, that is the only way I could find it.
