How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

One minor thing - the bathroom doesn't have a radiator for the periods when is cold outside.
Very good location. The apartment has everything you need for short or long stay. We stayed 1 night only. I was surprised to see that it was also a patio to enjoy outside private. Highly recommended!

Very steep stairs. Blinds on bedroom windows didn't fully block daylight. Outdoor noise was audible indoors.
Bright, comfortable, private outdoor space, well-equipped.

I can't rate this place highly enough. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and secure. The host needs a special callout too. She was extremely accommodating and let us check out later than we had intended. I would definitely stay here again.

It didn’t warm up, and there were no instructions for how to get hot water or lock the door.

Lovely house in a very central location. All facilities were provided and everything was in working order. The bed was super comfortable. There's a small enclosed yard. I booked because they allowed me to bring my dog, but it is a lovely place to stay. 10/10 would stay again!

Other reviews have already mentioned the very steep stairs, might not be suitable for more elderly guests, but we had no problems
Great location, with restaurants, bars, and shops all nearby. Very well-equipped property, plenty of towels etc and shampoo, shower gel etc in bath room, which was really helpful. Bedrooms very comfortable. Nollaig was very helpful when I contacted her before our arrival.

The cosy corner was exactly what it says in the name - lovely and cosy! It was very homely and was even decorated with some Christmas decorations! It was also spotless and had some essentials such as tea bags waiting for you. I would definitely stay here again! Excellent location also - walking distance from the town!

The only issue was the car parking, where the house was - can't park immediately outside as at traffic lights... So can park further down at €1.20/hr or probably best is to park round the corner you need to pay from 8.30am to 6.30pm (only €3) but you have to get up early to do this..
The house itself was excellent, had every modcon you needed, beds were comfy. Close to town centre easy walking distance

I'm afraid I found it a little noisy as it was on a junction, but it is a town centre location so is only to be expected.
It was a clean, warm, comfortable house with lots of hot water and good facilities.

Nothing.
If travelling to Sligo, this is the place you want to rent! Very close to the city center, easy to park nearby (only E3 per day) and a clean, cosy house with everything you need (including great fluffy towels!). The host gives you all the information you need and is easy to contact if necessary. The house was big enough for the four of us (three adults, one teenager), the beds were comfy, shower good, wifi also good and we felt at home from the moment we entered. We also liked Sligo very much so we'll come back and hopefully we can rent this place again. Loved it!!

We visited Sligo for the races and this was perfect - well sited, on the way to the course; small but with all the facilities; just the right 2 bedroom house for myself and my son

The place was very nice and the attention we received was excellent. We had some issues trying to figure out Irish appliances and they were right there to help us and to show us. I would definitely rent this place again.

This appartement is very near of de center and quiet with a little garden. The rooms are located in first floor. The contact of owner is very easy and peacefull. It is a fairly busy road in front of the house.

The property was in an excellent location to the nightlife and car parking was only around the corner. The property itself was spotless and it had everything we could possibly need. Definitely be back again.
