How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Only thing missing is breakfast but there is a lovely Deli across road that sells breakfast.
The rooms and staff were excellent and the food was gorgeous.

Could do with more coat hangers as only had 2 🤣
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Tasty meals at the pub. Good sized room and great en-suite. In room tea, coffee and biscuit facilities.

Nothing really, Just needs hotter water in the shower and perhaps a wee fridge in the apartments.
The room was spacious and comfortable, The bathroom was very clean and had a walk in shower, The bed was softer than we are used to but still comfortable and we both had a good nights sleep, There is a coffee/Tea maker and supplied Coffee capsules and teabags, The room also has a good wall mounted tv with a great selection of channels to watch, There is a Desk and chair if you need to write a postcard or two, Also plenty of space in the large wardrobe and bedside cabinets for your clothes and a suitcase stand which is handy to keep your luggage of the floor, The staff are also friendly and welcoming, Just two things I would have liked would be a small fridge to keep milk cold in the summer months, And the shower water was not overly warm compared to the tap water , But outside of that everything was great we would definitely stay here again in the future.

Always enjoy going back to stay at Cunninghams. The accommodation is just top class I always look forward to a trip back. Rachel and the staff are always so helpful and welcoming. Thanks again much appreciated

The check in process was awkward as it happens really late, post 4pm, which is a bummer.
The rooms were as stunning as the pictures shown. The room was large and so well decorated. The awesome nescafe machine was a bonus. The location is perfect for the area. I wish we stayed longer.

The shower head on my shower was broken from its fitting which was a nuisance. It was the right temperature but really awkward to use
The room was very comfortable, the staff pleasant and helpful and the food in the bar was excellent with a great atmosphere.

nothing really - the parking to the rear was tight but I found a space on the street right outside the front door. That is not a criticism really as I would not expect off street parking in an urban historic plot.
Cunninghams was an absolute delight. Parking was available and the food in the bar downstairs was first rate. I needed a late checkout and my e mail was answered by Rachel within 10 minutes. There was no charge for the late check out. The decor was beautiful, treble glazed windows, 3 in my room. Plenty warm. and very high end finishes, light fittings, artwork, interlined curtains etc. Bed very comfortable. En-suite was spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully finished. Could not fault it - will def stay again. Cleaning staff the next morning were also so polite and friendly.

The only downside is the steps. If you get one of the upstairs apartments, the steps are quite steep coming down.
The location was perfect. The food in the pub was really good and would stay here again.
