How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Spotless, modern family accommodation with all the mod cons. Ideal location for exploring the East Coast/North East. Bathroom was surprisingly big and well appointed for a lodge. Only disappointment was we only found the lovely looking pup around the corner as we were driving away.

This apartment was the most beautiful, clean apartment I have ever stayed in, the bed was extremely comfortable had the best night sleep. It was so quiet, its that nice that I would quite happily live there... Ian was very quick at responding which was excellent. Very safe and comfortable place. It had everything we needed ..the shower was great too, shall definitely be back ....thank you Ian 😁

Location was somewhat secluded, which meant the area was very quiet. The instructions from Ian were very clear and concise and arrived in perfect time. Overall the apartment was lovely and clean, and a perfect location for a single night or even a few nights break

Absolutely stunning I didn't look properly when I was booking, so I got a massive surprise when we arrived, with being self catering I Thot il need to bring sum toiletries and kitchen item , we needed nothing it was all there beautiful fresh toilets crisp bed clothes you name it it was there , the owner's beautiful and friendly, the only down fall is you definitely need to drive , this place is definitely 💯 , I wish the owners a very successful business journy, Kate Watson , Belfast

The hot water was not at all hot, and when it was available was set by a timer. The hosts need to turn up the water heat. The timer was not really a problem once we figured it out, but one needs to plan ahead. Also, the living room needs a coffee table or end tables for the couch.
Nice property! Modern and stylish.

There were three of us, so our grandson slept on the little bed in the main room. Not a problem for us, but for mixed parties be advised someone sleeping in the main room must transit the bedroom to reach the toilet. Ian is working on simplifying the laundry facility. As Americans we got somewhat flummoxed by the machinery and had to leave with some clean clothing still a bit damp. We were okay, but do allow lots of time if you need to do laundry. We could only stay one night - wish we could have stayed longer. We also coped with the older style toilet, which reminded me of experiences in Ireland years ago. Give the lever a good yank and hold down several seconds, or you only get a quick squirt of water and it takes several minutes for the tank to recover for another flush.
Cozy and compact, with all you need including laundry room. Ian is wonderful. Convenient to Navan and Brú na Bóinne. If you need a good meal and a pint in Navan, try The Central. If you can, visit the ruins of Bective Abbey a few miles away.

Workers refurbishing adjacent units began around 7 am.
Cozy rooms with clear instructions on the operation of all appliances. Close enough to town for meals and the next days activities.

I'd prefer more than a 6 minute shower but it was manageable.
Dunderry lodge is absolutely beautiful We were so impressed with the lodge. Spotless and v comfortable. Beautiful decor. Lovely and relaxing.
