How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I booked this because I was traveling from Cliffs of Moher in the evening to Skelling Islands the next day, and the location was perfect along the way. Given that I would have to arrive late and depart early, I communicated this consideration. Lisa stayed in detailed communication throughout the whole experience to set everything up for my late contactless check-in, and get the breakfast ready for my early morning departure. She's a super host! I had eggs , bacon, cheese, irish ham, yoghurt and nuts, and everything was delicious. The place has a very charming and welcoming, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I strongly recommend this stay!

All good.
Easy to find. Room was large and bathroom was clean and water was very hot. Arrived slightly earlier than expected time but Lisa was so welcoming, making a pot of tea and finding toys for our 1year old. We also had to leave earlier than the normal breakfast time but Lisa was able to make us breakfast before leaving for the airport. Would happily stay here again!

Unfortunately family also stayed the same night with a child that cried all night in room next door, so didn’t get much sleep but that was NOT THE HOSTS fault.
Very easy to find. Booked last minute and host very accommodating. Room was lovely. Bathroom had a great hot shower. Very nice breakfast.

Amazing guesthouse, delicious breakfast and delightful owners who were very welcoming. The quality of upkeep of this traditional farmhouse is fantastic and warmed my heart.

Our holiday from start to finish was amazing . Could not fault anything. Lisa was so lovely and made us feel at home . Nothing was too much trouble . We became friends by the time we left . Amazing cozy rooms , fab Breakfast with lots of options. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Could come and go as you please and you had access to make as much teas , coffee , fresh bottled water and nibbles from the dining room 24 hours a day . My little girl became great friends with Lisa’s children and they would play most days . The whole experience was just fabulous and a breeze . We cannot wait to return. We miss it already . Love Charlotte and family. X

There honestly was t anything I didn’t like about this stay.
This stay was really a great opportunity to stay in the Irish countryside, away from typical tourist locales. We had a bit of a stressful day of driving in unfamiliar territory and were greeted with such a warm welcome. Our beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. Lisa is an exceptional host, such a delightful person and we loved visiting with her. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and everything about our stay at Fitzgerald’s Farmhouse was wonderful.

The stay could be little spacious. We had one double and two single bed holding the entire room. While it was not uncomfortable, can be spacious for a family visit
We had our stay planned here for a night. Lisa responded quickly all our question after the booking and was great to chat upon reaching, very nice with an overall arrangement and guiding us for the places around. The location is also great, not far from the main road but in the quiet area and the food for breakfast was delicious.

Couldn’t fault a thing.

Lisa is an amazing host. The house is centrally located to a lot of Limerick and Kerry spots.
