Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainNothing that we can recall.
The hosts -Heinz and Rose are adorable hosts. They made us feel like being at home. The location, quite house, close to the river and to a very nice golf pitch, made our stay in Gleneven house a great experience. Heinz made a surprise for Easter to our 7 years old son - in the morning he put a chocolate egg in our son's plate. My husband and our son got close with our hosts' two dogs. We strongly recommend this lovely house, hosted by amazing people.

United StatesIf you have a lot of luggage you’ll be lugging it up the stairs. Not bad for me and my husband who are young and somewhat fit, but would be difficult for some. You’re also only given between 6pm-7pm to check in when the app tells you between 6pm-9pm. We were let in but the owner didn’t seem very pleased.
Rose was an absolute gem and so sweet. I asked her for a couple glasses for water and she offered tea. I said yes and she brought up delicious tea and the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. The owner was kind and made a delicious breakfast that was laid out beautifully.

AustraliaLeaving the property to soon. Should have had 2 nights
This was by far one of the most refreshing stays on our entire trip! From the adventure of getting there (we got on the wrong bus without any cash but he went out of his way to drop us close by anyway!) and strolling along rather idilic countryside to find the place, to getting help from the friendly locals and then the place it’s self! Our orginal plans were changed last minute and we arrived a lot earlier then we said we would, however the proprietor ( a lovely gentleman by the name of Heinz) kindly let us leave our bags early. The room, in my opinion, was the quintessence of charm itself and felt as if you had dropped into a light period drama. The house is cleverly arranged with guest rooms at the back so that whilst it still feels like a home you never feel as if you are encroaching on to the family. Then of course there was Breakfast! I could wax lyrical about that but I would highly recommend you go there yourself to truely enjoy. Honestly this was a brilliant nights stay and just the rest my brother and I needed and I’m only sad I do not stay longer. Thank you so much!

IrelandHeinz & Rose have always been appropriate, nice, & accommodating to me. It is not a luxury hotel so if you have realistic expectations, it is a great little place to stay. Each time I have stayed here I have been comfortable & at peace. There is no other traveller accommodation in Iniskeen so this place makes it possible to enjoy the lovely town. I have been allowed to leave my bags before & after checkout when I have stayed & Rose was kind enough to cover my suitcases so they would get wet if it rained when I was late picking them up one day. They provide a very nice breakfast included in the booking price. This is a place I will happily stay at anytime & I recommend it. It also has a lovely garden area which is nice to sit in & walk around in. The owners have never bothered me in any way or given me any problems & I like them.

IrelandThe dog could use some grooming to be brushed & have its fur attended to which is a bit knotted in the places it has been scratching due to fleas & a bit long/ overgrown. It needs a flea treatment to alleviate its scratching & discomfort. Beautiful dog, nice elderly creature, very friendly, very safe with children & people. I like the dog very much. Great for a cuddle.
The couple running this place have been pleasant enough to me & I have no complaints. The house is an antique building & I am interested in old buildings. The couple who host the guests here appear to be doing their best to keep things running smoothly according to their way of doing things. Although the chexk in time is quite late they are amiable about leaving bags in the place until check in time. Their price is one of the most reasonable in the area. I have had no problems on my first visit & have returned again. This place makes it possible to visit the nice town of Iniskeen, there appear to be no other motels or guest houses in the area so for non locals, they would not be able to stay in Iniskeen without Gleneven Guesthouse. Thanks for having me.

IrelandNothing I didn't like- it's an old property, dark and rustic which is it's charm! I think the welcome and the chat is worth far more than decor- and I got that Only thing would be to tidy up - sealant in shower- there's alot!
This was a very laid back relaxed stay- 1 night picked for the price, access to my onward location. This is an old established house- with history! Great welcome by Rose- with cup of coffee! Comfy bed and room- slept well. Hot water / easy to use shower. Breakfast well presented and Owner very engaging and efficient Thanks

United KingdomFor this price, I wouldn’t expect any b&b to be perfect……so for the price I was happy enough😀though Carpet in bedroom could do with a vacuum, as seems someone has stayed recently with a short haired blonde dog Also haven’t seen a shower cubicle with so much silicone …. extreme siliconing 🤣
The price was decent Lovely, old house with character in a quiet, rural village Pretty manicured gardens Only met the man of the house, but was friendly host Selection of breakfast available ….continental and cooked breakfast Very powerful shower with lots of very hot water Bed was comfortable Good for a short stay if doing something local
