bedroom a bit dated but goes with hotels style

locations, staff and food and scenery was just amazing. gougane Barra is such a magical place would definitely go back.

Everything was perfect.

The location of this hotel is breathtaking. The Gouganne Barra lake and forest is beautiful. The hotel is wonderful. Neil, Katy and all the staff were very welcoming. The food was outstanding. The local gin selection was incredible. Our room looked out onto the lake. The view was stunning.

Creaky floor boards in room above but this is a very small complaint and didn't bother us

The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The views from the bedroom and restaurant are out of this world. The standard of the food at breakfast and dinner was brilliant. It was also a great added bonus to have free access to row a boat on the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to return

Neil and Katy the owners were so friendly and helpful, as were all of the staff. They got a cancellation in the front viewing room and they kept it for us as we were on our honeymoon. Stunning views! They have managed to keep the traditional Irish homely feel to the hotel. The location is breathtaking, our room was spotless clean and I loved the touch of the free use of the rowing boats. I will be recommending this hotel to my friends and family, it is a little gem!

This was our second stay at the beautiful Gougane Barra, we returned after staying for the first time last year. This time we made use of the free row boat out onto the lake and did a walk around the forest park which we didn't get time to do last year, which made it even more special. The location of this hotel is superb, the peacefulness is unmatched to anywhere I have ever stayed before. However, the thing that makes this hotel so special are the people. Every member of staff cannot do enough for you, they are all so pleasent and friendly and make you feel so welcome. The food is also to die for, we had dinner and breakfast and all of the food was amazing. We also had a better view from the room this year out onto the lake which was an amazing treat, the views make waking up in the morning in this lovely hotel even more special. The rooms themselves are so clean and comfortable, you have all the ammenties that you could need. There are lots of day trips within easy reach that you could make if you were staying for a little longer. There is not a negative thing I can think of to say about this place, we will most definitely be back again!
