How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Could not find fault at all .

No obvious eating area made meals a bit tricky and one bedroom a little bit cold.
Good location for access town (only a tenner taxi home) and well equipped kitchen. Good value for money for four people. Heating worked well and two ensuites was good.

Weather was unusually v cold (-2C) took property a while to warm up. Definitely needed to light the open fire.
Convenient to the town, (by short journey 2-4 mins in a car). Pert friendly. Footpaths along the roads for walk. Quiet location. Had all facilities, loved the open fire. Very homely.

If you look at the location, you will be aware the property is near a busy road but in all honesty, I stayed on a Friday night and it was very quiet. One word of warning would be that if you are bringing a dog, make sure they are watched and well behaved as fence is low so escape to road would be a risk.
It is a very cute cottage, with beautiful decor to suit style. Open fire is great (host could leave a starter fire for bonus points but fuel available nearby). Towels a plenty! And face cloths. Small attention to detail evident everywhere and appreciated. Secure parking at rear of property is excellent addition. Location is perfect to access town or to avoid it entirely.

Nothing negative to say really. A little bit of noise from the adjacent main road but we quickly got used to that.
Very cozy and well equipped cottage. Very clean and comfortable. Halloween decorations added for our stay in October made the kids really happy. Would definitely stay again as it’s a great location…a short drive to letterkenny and surrounding areas.

Clean, comfortable and just right for our small family group. The two bathrooms made life easier for us too. The owner was really helpful with suggestions of places to visit and routes to take.

The host was very helpful especially just before we arrived. The cottage was beautiful and very clean. It was near shops and the town centre. Would recommend staying here. Will definitely be back.

Had a fantastic holiday in Kiltoy cottage , it's beautiful, so clean and comfortable. Had everything you could possibly need. Had the pleasure of meeting Catriona and Desi who couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Thank you Catriona for the detailed list of places to visit. Great location for touring and so nice to come back after a day out. Would definitely recommend Best Wishes Catherine and Eamonn

Have to drive to coffee shops, stores, etc. (was ok for us because we had a car)
Charming cottage, comfortable furnishings and reasonably well equipped kitchen. Appreciated the clothes washer and covered drying rack. Quiet at night although situated right next to a road. Very helpful host.

The arrangement for accessing the property was challenging insofar as the key was only made available after repeated phone calls@. Also some indication of where to find the property would have been helpful.@ The owner stated that she would prefer to meet the incoming occupant(s) personally before making the key available.

I can honestly say there wasn't anything that we did not like.
This is a lovely and serene location that suited our needs perfectly. Every thing we needed was right there. We couldn't think of anything else that could be added to make it better.
