How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

said one web site late bar but was not open after 12 the manager told us short staff i didn't think this was a great excuse should have stated this on the website , we were only looking for a few drinks sitting around the lobby as the bars down town closed at 11.30 pm .

Dated furnishings. No AC but I understand that the AC might be a universal issue.

One reception staff member was not very helpful. It was a male staff member who was working at around noon on Saturday. He did not offer to keep our bags and when I asked if he could call me when our rooms were ready to check in he said no and did not offer an alternative.
The rooms were a great size and very comfortable beds. The location was excellent.

It's not cheap to stay, but hard to complain when it's a lovely hotel and impossible to find shortcomings from our short stay.
Very comfortable room, lovely hotel and a good breakfast. Ideal location in the city centre and just far enough from the noisier areas at night too. The staff at breakfast looked after us well and appreciated it!

The wheelchair accessible toilet off the hotel lobby is based in the ladies toilets. It also included a baby changing area & was not big enough to accomodate both functions.
The location, wheelchair accessibility of bedroom & en-suite were very good.

Was looking a bit tired in the breakfast decorations if you looked closely. Felt like the restaurant wasn’t big enough if the hotel was full but didn’t affect us.
Liked the hotel a lot, excellent location right in the centre. Great deal with the car park over the road

The website mentioned a kids club but we asked and no one seemed to know what we were talking about. Other than that everything was lovely
Kids cheeseburger was one of the best we’ve ever had. The staff was fierce helpful and nice. He rooms were good, location great, and leisure club nice but not the best for kids.

Customer service in the restaurant bar part.
The stay was very expensive for what it was. the staff in the Bar were not very friendly and were slow at serving despite only 6 or 7 people in the bar. Also, my sister was accused of not paying her bill in front of other customers when in fact it was paid, it was like she was chased by one of the younger bar staff. Thne clearly don't communicate. She had her family and young kids with her, so it made her feel super stressful.

No fridge in the room, however, we were able to store the baby's milk in a fridge in reception.
The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay with our newborn baby and 2 other children.

Front desk staff could have been better... we wanted fish n chips upon our arrival at dinner time and were literally told by front desk that the town didn't have any good places. We wandered for 45 min trying to find dinner :( Additionally we needed assistance booking transportation to our next city... front desk really no help there either. Really strange...
