How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A few more healthy options for breakfast perhaps
Location terrific for exploring Kilkenny city. Bedrooms super, clean and very comfortable (even for 3) Evening dinner excellent...I had the chicken noodles which was really tasty and light for those calorie counting! I liked that it noted the calories on this item being <800 calories Breakfast good Parking 7.50 per day Foyer so comfortable and relaxing to lounge around Pool excellent

The room we stayed in was very comfortable and perfect for what we needed. The swimming pool was just the right temperature. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The hotel was spotless. It was a relaxing stay.

Bathroom not as clean as could be and no areas available to even serve even a slice of cake with coffee between 4:30 and 5:30 (only bar staff available at that time who can’t serve any food) which was surprising for a hotel that size.
Great location, meal in restaurant nice. Parking rate good.

There was nothing really that was not to like.
Location was great, parking very convenient and at reduced hotel rate. Staff friendly, food was really good and the bar and restaurant had a really good atmosphere.

Like I said the like warm breakfast
My only complaint was that the hot breakfast was only look warm on both days that I was there but the choice for breakfast was really good.

Family room was lovely but beds too small to fit 2 adults and 2 kids. Would have suited 3 people better, we just managed it as our kids are young but it was an uncomfortable night stay. The shower wouldnt heat up in the morning, rang reception and was told to leave it run and it will come through as lots of people showering at this time. Nearly 40 mins later the hot water came, crazy waste of water and we were lucky we weren't rushing as 40 mins is madness to wait.
Location is excellent. Value for money. Lovely hotel.

we sat under a skylight in the dining room and cobwebs fell down on us, we moved tables,needs a bit of attention in dining room.

The hotel was totally overpriced at €259 per night excluding breakfast. I definitely won’t be going to Kilkenny again ever

Great location and parking opposite is discounted. Staff were helpful and friendly and the meal and breakfast was good. Room clean and had everything I needed. Will stay again.

Price was a tad high but it was during Spring Break when every hotel increases their prices.
The beds were very comfortable. The location was the star though with everything nearby in walking distance.

For the price I paid for the room for 2 night €578 there was no breakfast included in it so had to pay for breakfast separately

The beds were very soft. We had to queue every morning for breakfast. It was mid term February so a lot of families staying maybe would not have to queue other times.
The bedrooms were nice and The pool was beautiful and the food was excellent and staff more than helpful.

Check in time was 16:00 which is later than most. However staff took our bags and we were able to have a drink in the lounge area while we waited. Car parking is across the road in a multistory carpark which is not surprising for a city centre hotel, but it was bit more effort to bring luggage over. Hotel have an arrangement with the carpark regarding payment. A couple of bits in the bathroom could be fixed up a little, eg grout missing, chips on tiles, damaged toilet roll holder. But overall was clean and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was very busy but this was flagged to be the case in advance and the staff managed the queues for the tables.
Location is brilliant, it is close to everything. Hotel itself is lovely and our room was very nice. Big mirrors and well lit which many hotels lack. Shower was good. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Nice breakfast.
