How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything was perfect for us
We just returned from a short stay at Country View House. It was more than we expected. Location was perfect to help us recharge our batteries. Very quiet, fresh air, sheeps on the field, all you need to escape from the everydays business of life. We enjoyed the fabulous views from our windows. The room was very clean, cosy and fresh, the house had that homey feel that made you feel so welcome. We couldn't have asked for more. Lorraine is an amazing host, she went far and above to meet all our needs with the warmest smile on her face. It was my birthday on the day we arrived and she phoned a restaurant to book a table for our dinner. She understood our need to just sit and relax while there and she showed us the facilities we could enjoy making sure she is just a text away if we need anything. We would highly recommend this place for anyone wishing to recharge or just simply as a leaving point to visit around as most of the known places in Kerry are minutes away by car.

People need to realize it is out of town and more like a Lane to get there; if you are looking for a place to hide and have great views, this is it! Wish it was easier to book two room next to each other.
The house and rooms are beautiful.

The location was not easy to find but with some help from the people in the village, we did.
Very nice place, remote, where you can feel the real countryside (sheep and even a rabbit surprised us on the way there) , clean and with a very confortable bed.

At Country View House, you'll discover modern and spotless large rooms with comfortable en-suite showers. Lorraine made sure to check with us to confirm our satisfaction and address any needs. Just be aware that there's no common area for guests, which might not be a concern for most, but could be relevant for larger parties.

The owners, Lorraine and her husband were so welcoming and full of information about the local area. The scenery, the bedroom and en-suite were all beautiful, lots of tea and coffee provided, even a hairdryer. I would definitely recommend it and hop to visit again….

Absolutely loved our stay at Country View House. The rooms were spacious with a very comfy bed. Location was a short drive our of Milltown and it was very peaceful and quiet. Our host was extremely helpful and provided many helpful hints for our plans to drive around the Ring of Kerry which definitely made our day much better!

The guest house was absolutely beautiful! It exceeded our expectations. It was so comfortable and the view from the room we were in was just stunning. The en-suite bathroom was so clean and the decor was just so fantastic. I wish it was my bedroom and bathroom in my own place. Could have stayed there another few nights without any hesitation. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend. It is so close to really nice bars a restaurants (by car) in Killorglin and again close to Killarney , but much better value for your money. We hope to be back in the near future.

It is odd to be shut in your room with no other place to sit and relax. Outdoors there is a space but you feel as if you are invading the family's personal space.
Host was super gracious and welcoming. Rooms are very elegant and comfortable with extraordinary views.

Tasteful decoration in a newly-built house. My partner already bought the same towels on the internet, as she loved their fluffiness 🤣 Lorraine kindly told us about the must-see sights and gave excellent advice for our dinner restaurant.

No breakfast, 3km away from the village, so having a car is a must. Roller shade blocked the window and I could not open it (and it was quite a hot day).
Beautiful, secluded home, lovely host. Very clean.

Beautiful spotless room, everything was new. Lorraine and her mother very friendly and took time to make sure everything was OK for us. Beautiful countryside location with stunning views from our bedroom and having sheep as neighbours was lovely as well! Bonus having a guest Netflix account on the tv! Toiletries and tea coffee biscuits maps etc were great to have. The room was warm and cosy and it felt like a home away from home. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

Everything was fine. Just have a suggestion to install a stair rail, as the stairs are carpeted and it's easy to slip on them.
The house was very quiet and clean. Everything we needed was provided. The hostess was very friendly and gave us good advice about what to see and how to get to places.
