I actually have been here before and it’s always been incredible! This time I booked a break for my brother and his wife and messed up the dates and times. I managed to get into the hotel with less than 8 hours notice and get the dates swapped over! They were very very helpful and my brother and his wife had a lovely time thank you again

The lights of the WiFi modem & the cabon monoxide alarm / monitor on the wall , wer blinking & causing a very tranquil room to hinder the tranquility while you sleep . 9/10 .

From the moment we arrived, Dylan the concierge collected us from the car park on the golf buggy , without even being asks (it was raining heavy) so it was a welcome sight , such a pleasant guy . 10/10 for him .

The television in our garden suite was blocked by a poster of the bed. Other than that it was exemplary

Most relaxed hotel I’ve ever been to. No stupid music blaring, normal friendly staff and nothing was too much to ask of them

The afternoon tea was a little bit of a let down, we would have been more than happy to pay a little extra if it meant a better overall experience. Kilronan Castle is the benchmark for afternoon tea so we had expected something similar from Lough Eske. Also the room was very hot all night due to the 2 radiators being on, we had patio doors on the ground floor not a window so didn't feel safe leaving the doors open during the night. But 2 small things we can easily get over because everything else was spectacular. But still should be mentioned. Would stay again tomorrow if we had half the chance.

Where to begin. The spa treatments were the best I've ever experienced & I've experienced quite a few. The room was beautifully spacious, the staff were helpful & friendly. We are in the bar & the food was yummy, great options & delicious creme brulee. The breakfast options were amazing buffet style but also order off the menu. I had the eggs royal, smoked salmon was out of this world. Would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful hotel.

Nothing. Be aware that most rooms are in buildings adjacent to the castle. This was not a surprise for us but don’t want people to be disappointed.

Amazing property with gorgeous rooms. The main castle area has beautiful sitting areas to enjoy time with friends, drinks or to just curl up and read. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. The grounds are fun to walk around, take a bike ride or follow the paths for a hike around the lake. Overall this was our best stay on our 9 night stay in Ireland and great value!

Fine Hotel But With Some Deficiencies

Food & Beverage management is remiss. Servers in The Lounge were poorly trained, diffident; one looked unkempt bordering slovenly. Hamburger was atrocious. The fine-dining Cedars Restaurant had good food and well-considered wine pairing recommendations, but the interior decor was quite ordinary, not in keeping with the price range.

Room was spacious and furnishings good 5-star quality. Bathroom was very large. But the window curtains were damaged and hard to draw; the bathroom heating rack was out of order. Front desk staff and doorman were very pleasant and efficient. Public areas very nicely done in Gentleman’s Club style, with working fireplaces and paneled walls, full button-down leather Chesterfields. The hotel should spend for real oil paintings instead of photographic reproductions printed on canvas.

There was no heat control in the rooms, unfortunately even with the basic fans provided the room was stifling during the night, and we couldn't open windows as the outside temperature was below 0 degrees.

The room and castle hotel themselves are amazing, as are the staff (especially the concierge Shea!), we also had a wonderful massage, and the bar staff were able to produce great off-menu cocktails - we had an overall fantastic stay.
