How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Being picky, 11am check out. And only 1 fob key fob between a group of 4 which means everyone has to arrive back at the same time after a night out which is not always the case.
Top top class apartment 10/10. Easy and welcoming check in

ALOT of noise from bar across the street and pedestrians on sidewalk until 4: 00 AM. Additionally, travel companion and I booked location and add paid more than a hotel for the two bedrooms and two bathrooms situation. Initially, host tried to get us to sleep together in one room in same bed, assumable to avoid them having to clean two bedrooms. After three requests asking about the listed second bedroom and pointing to a locked door that he didn't show us, he opened the second bedroom door for us. Afterward, hosts, who run/own restaurant downstairs, were very amenable and responded promptly to any inquiry.
The beds were comfortable and apartment is spacious, especially with large bedrooms and kitchen. Having access to washer and dryer in unit was great and one of the reasons we selected the location. Good location to walk to several amenities and sites. Good restaurant below.

11 o'clock check out is crazy early. Should be 12 o'clock.
Absolutely spotless clean, immaculate!!! Met Ann the cleaner when leaving the following morning, lovely friendly lady.

I couldn't recommend this property enough. Staff were very friendly at check-in and even took us around the apartment to show us where everything was. The apartment itself is excellent, very clean and in a brilliant location right in the middle of Kilkenny. Everyone in the party loved it and we all agreed that if we're in Kilkenny again we'll be checking availability here first.

If you are a light sleeper you may struggle with the street noise, the smaller bedroom is only fit for one person as the bed is much too small for 2. The cleaner let herself in at 11am the morning of check out, would appreciate if she knocked so we could open the door.
The apartment is very modern and spacious, in a great location right in the city centre but this means it is noisy at night. The people running the apartment were flexible with offering an earlier check in once the apartment was ready.

The street is quite noisy. Loading and unloading started at 7 am. Only one key fob is provided and there is no lock box so you cannot do outings in multiple groups.
Very central. Beautiful space. Its on the second level so to call it a penthouse is a bit much, but it is a great spot to spend time. Parking in front is prohibited but there is a garage around the corner that sells affordable day, 3 day and more tickets. Just drive in, het a ticket and bring it to the machine. Select multiple days and make your choice. Pay the amount and you get a ticket with unlimited in and out privileges during the time chosen.

There was nothing we didn’t like. However for large Aussies Irish beds are so small. This has been a challenge for us throughout England and Ireland. Double beds are tiny. So not an issue solely with this apartment.
What a fantastic apartment. After 3 weeks of travelling in England and Ireland the spacious rooms were so appreciated. It gave us some space to ourselves so we were not tripping over each other. Beautifully appointed and great conveniences. Thai restaurant below had beautiful food. And location, location, location - just perfect - smack bang in the middle of everything - all in walking distance.

The sofa bed in the living room was not fit for sleeping. The mattress is only good for a child. Soft, lumpy and you can feel springs through it. It is not for adults at all.

It was hot in the bedrooms which made it difficult to sleep. The "continental breakfast" was one packet of cereal each, for which we had to buy our own milk. For 240 euros we expected more.
