How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. link on booking.com for directions to the property were incorrect. very little signage on site. directions given by staff to the bedrooms was vague. door to accommodation locked. simple map to room should be provided at checkin

There is nothing negative about this place. It ticks all the boxes.
The University looked great. It is a good location to go into and out of Dublin. Yes it was also clean. Access to the train station so near is another plus.

I did not like this time that my bed was beside the door and i heard people walking and talking in the hall.
Cozy bed. Great view. Sink in the room.

the check is was very stressful. it took way to long and we stressed that we were in a hurry but there was major confusion. I booked 2 double rooms and one single but the booking only recorded 4 people. changing it was a night mare. the staff didn’t really know what they were doing and were clearly distracted with other matters.

Parking was an issue, until I requested and finally got free secure parking.
Had an issue with shared bathrooms down the hall, so a staff member moved us to a room having ensuite bath. She was a good problem solver!!

TV was very small. Although I was told upon checkin that breakfast would be available in the Pugin hall I was asked quite abruptly to leave when I entered the next morning.

Absolutely no fault of the university authorities, of course, but the traffic jams in Maynooth were infuriating.
The university is in a very convenient location for my work and is also in a very peaceful, tranquil setting which suits me very well. Shops and restaurants are close by which was an added bonus.

Heating in room; radiator was very hot, tried to turn down heat but adjusting the dial didn't seem to make much or any noticeable difference. 1am curfew should be advised prominently prior to booking & would turn some off staying again in future.
Excellent location, very clean, beds v comfortable and really good pillows. Fantastic accommodation in Central location, good value for money.

App Key Entry was not very satisfactory and I had to get a physical key card eventually. Probably unnecessary to have to use the top floor apartment when the one just below was apparently empty.

I'd have liked a self-catering facility similar to what is available in the apartments but this comment is merely intended as an observation and not intended as a criticism.
The accommodation was spacious and comfortable. I liked the quiet environment and its proximity to work, supermarkets and restaurants in Maynooth.

you wouldn't want to be carrying a lot foubd some lost people as reception does close overnight WiFi parking location buildings beautiful great welcome lovely staff great plants everywhere, nice walks. like it being basic lifts available it's a huge complex, but easy enough to follow directions

On very minor gripe was that the TV remote was a universal remote and it did not operate tv

only one thing: the room wasn't too big, but ok, because of the prize!
The service was really excellent, a great green area and a wonderful campus atmosphere. I would like to come back- very time!
