How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I sent several emails about parking prior to our stay and eventually rang the hotel the day before to get an answer. Also, having checked in that morning early and left our bags at the hotel, I still received a phone call in the afternoon asking to confirm that I was taking up the reservation. The fried breakfast was not great.

People out in the stairwell and outside were very loud between 3am and 5am. kept a few of our group awake from then - though not the hotels fault but the other people staying. Place was looking a little tired.
The continental breakfast was delicious. reception staff were lovely!

There was only one small lift and it took awhile to wait your turn to use.
Our room was ready when we checked in and we got an upgrade to a huge suite!

You do have to taxi into the city

Location. Staff in Reception. Food in restaurant was very poor quality today for lunch. We ordered but it was so over cooked and badly presented. We sent it back and left to eat somewhere else. The breakfast was good, thankfully.

The facilities should have been part of the room rent and within the hotel building

Our room had quite limited bath area and our mattress was not as good as I would expect in this kind of a hotel.
The facilities of the hotel, the staff and available activities were very nice, like paid swimming pool, great breakfast, Easter children activity, etc.

When ordering a drink with your lounge staff who then requested the order from the bar staff - was slow. In our case the bar served those who went directly to the bar which included coffees etc. I had to ask a couple of times for our order. But all in all lovely staff!
Breakfast was good! Hot food delicious!

We booked this hotel because it stated that it is 10 minutes from Pairc ui chaoimh. However, that is across the river. It was, in fact, a good 20-30 minute drive or an hours walk to the venue. We ended up having to get a taxi to & from the venue & as a result of waiting for one, we missed the 21:15 deadline to order food. We arrived back at 21:17 & were directed to the nearest shop. So, no hot meal all day! Plus the added cost of a taxi to & from. Also, there was a hole in the bedroom carpet, paint splashes on the door, & only 2 teabags for 2 people. There was also only 1 lift working & we were on the 6th floor

The receptionist doesn't really understand English well, I think she's from Italy. The TV signals were not working therefore I couldn't use the TV. The bathroom is worn out, the titles were breaking apart, the toilet flush buttons were broken and found some hairs on the floor under the sink. The bath tub was based on shower, there were no taps. There were leaks coming from the shower pipes and behind the toilet. The quality of the bathroom is unacceptable based on the price I've paid for the room.
Good location, bus to town centre nearby and plenty of car parking spaces available. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bedding sheet was very clean. But the pillows weren't that comfortable. Good WiFi connection.
