Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Location was convenient to airport & Boyne Valley attractions. Building was quaint & interior was clean & well furnished. The staff was very accommodating & friendly. Check in and staff are located across the street at the Coningham Hotel & even came over to our room to assist with some help we needed. The breakfast was really good and included a sideboard with fresh fruit, scones, juice, etc plus a full hot breakfast. Highly recommend.

IrelandThe only thing that could have been better was the inclusion of a kettle for making a cup of tea and having another Nespresso pod for making coffee the next morning. Other than that it was fantastic.
We arrived on a wet and dreary night after a 3 hour drive and the room was just so fantastic. It was really cosy when we arrived. Check in was a breeze! We checked in with the hotel reception and crossed the road to the Old Post Office. There was plenty of street parking and also parking available in the hotel car park. The room was lovely. It was really warm and inviting. The windows had an extra glass panel to help keep the traffic noise out. The room was tastefully decorated and the bed was comfy. Really lovely large shower too and plenty of hot water. The room had a lovely coffee machine but a kettle for a cup of tea would be lovely. We improvised and ran the coffee machine on water to make the tea. Breakfast was in the hotel again the following morning. We both had a fry and it was just lovely. The dining area was really nicely decorated. It is the best black pudding I've had in a hotel! Everything was freshly made. Check out was quick and easy, which was fantastic because we were travelling to a wedding. Overall, would definitely stay again!

Lovely place in convenient location for visiting the Boyne Valley. The room was very cozy and well furnished, perfect for a chilly November evening! Very friendly and helpful staff too, and nice restaurant across the road at the main hotel, where check-in and breakfast is served.

IrelandWe had an issue with an emergency ceiling light in the room. This may have been on a timer and continuously changed from being unobtrusive to lighting up the whole room. This made sleep very difficult. Unfortunately this could not be fixed and while we were offered a room change to a different premises this was not feasible.
The room was quite small, with a nice comfortable bed. The bathroom was good with an excellent shower. Breakfast was served in the Conyngham Arms Hotel and was good with a nice variety of hot cooked options. We had dinner there also which was very good. I must congratulate the Old Post Office for being one of the very few Hotels I have stayed in in recent years that actually supply proper sized bath towels, well done as it's a major bugbear of mine

Bed was large and comfortable, view was very pretty overlooking the back courtyard. Breakfast was quite good and i liked the option of the smaller breakfast as I'm not a big morning eater. It was all quite simple and delicious.

United KingdomThe security light in the room seemed to be faulty and instead of a green glow it flashed on and off at intervals during the night.
It was easy to park outside. We picked up the keys from the hotel opposite which was no trouble. We had breakfast there also which was very good. The rooms were small but attractively decorated and light. The bed was comfortable. There was no hair-dryer although it was listed.

United StatesThe only suggestion we have is that something should be posted at the actual old post office building telling clients to check in across the street at the other hotel. We were very confused and it appeared so were several other people. Very simple solution to put up a notice.
The old post office far exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, very modern and had an excellent breakfast.
