Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MaltaWe were a bit disappointed about the breakfast to be honest.
Our room had a nice view of the beach, which is very close by. The temperature in the room was also quite comfortable. The communication regarding accessing the property was sent in good time and was clear enough.

ItalyWe booked two rooms, in one bed linen were not clean. Very poor breakfast: we had to share what was there with the other guests. No tea, not enough milk for everyone, not enough bread. Price too high compared with the offer.
Very nice host! He accompanied us to the pub because the lodge was far away from a place to have dinner. Thank you!

GermanyI never met the hosts, but they are responsive to messages. I paid more than in other places but received less (smaller room, sparse breakfast, single occupancy the same price as double occupancy...). Some items for breakfast came in very small numbers...like 3 bananas and 4 slices of brown bread for 5 guests?? Only small amount of musli left from the day before....even though there were alternatives like apples, white toast and cornflakes.
Self-check-in very convenient. I arrived before the stated check-in time and could easily access the house and the room was also ready. I liked the room (small double room as single occupancy). Christina organised almond milk for me for breakfast, as I don't eat any dairy. Information for Dingle Way hikers: after you walk past the Railway Lodge above the N86, you can take the first dirt road down to the N86 (it is not shown on Google Maps). Then it is only a short walk on the rather dangerous N86. To reach the beach, you can leave the Railway Lodge through a gate on the western backside.

IrelandI would have liked brewed coffee! And next time I would bring something to have with the toast as there was a fridge there. However this was not a problem as all had been stated clearly on booking.com
I liked the fact that you had a code to enter and could come and go independently. Really appreciated the extra charger in the bedside locker. The room was spacious, warm and comfortable with a decent tv. It was very quiet and had a beautiful view of the sea. The self service breakfast facilities were good.

IrelandTwo small towels for two is not enough. The bins was not empty when we arrived, so not cleaned before The breakfast was not so rich as expected, (only one bottle of milk, few slices of breads and few slices of ham and cheese). it is also not hygienic and covid friendly to have the jars of jam opened and everybody can use them.
The structure is fantastic in particular is beautiful the position near the sea. The view of the room is amazing

United Stateswifi was lousy and that’s what we were trying to use to make a phone call for a taxi to go to a nearby restaurant for food. we were walking the Kerry Camino/Dingle way and no signage on the trail on where to leave trail. the lodge is not in Camp it’s 20 minute walk before, no address on lodge to give to Taxi driver so finally the second driver we called knew the lodge. just was wanting the B&B feel that we got from the other days and this was by far our least favorite. but has the potential to do better with all the above.
that night no one else was staying so we had the place to ourselves
