Highly recommended!! Probably the best B&B we ever visited. Erica was so sweet and the rooms were lovely, clean and spacious! The hosts made us plant based delicious breakfast on request, so lovely! Short walk to restaurant, grocery store and playground! This beautiful place is definitely worth a visit!

That the time spent and the overall experience in Riverside House and having to return home wasn’t longer. Could not fault this location or host at all.

From the moment we arrived we were met by Erica as we pulled onto the drive with waves and smiles. She was very welcoming, showed us around her beautiful home and showed us where we were staying. We stayed in the blue room and we have to say that she went above and beyond. The breakfast was just mouth watering and that alone would make us want to go back. Everything was freshly prepared, Johns fresh bread was just awesome, the French toast was sensational, just everything was devine. You couldn’t have asked for a better host and location to stay. Would recommend hands down no questions asked.

All was fabulous! Just a small suggestion: a full body mirror would be a great addition to the deluxe studio.

Beautiful location by the river, 5 min walk into town. Very cozy room with a fire place, all very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is absolutely divine!

Nothing worth mentioning…our hosts put a lot of effort into making our stay exceptional.

We stayed an extra night in the coach house and lit the stove fire for a bit of nostalgia…very comforting.

We stayed in the Shepard’s hut and It was such a lovely experience! So cute and cosy with sounds and views of the river right outside. Erica was a fantastic host and the breakfast was 10/10! Would 100% go back.

I should have stayed longer. Nothing to dislike.

This was exceptional and Erica clearly cares about her guests. Beautiful setting, spacious room, nespresso machine, a shower you can turn round in ( rare in Irish B&Bs), glorious bed and scrumptious breakfast, with eggs Benedict cooked by Erica herself And Newport is a pretty town too. Highly recommend this riverside jewel.

Simply nothing

Simply everything. Erica and John have made Riverside House a true oasis. The house, the bedroom, the dining room, the breakfast, the location, the vibe all wonderful. We would absolutely recommend staying here. We were very disappointed that we only stayed one night. Take our advice and stay at least 2 nights. You won't regret it!

The room was too cold.

Erica and John (only my partner met him) were exceptional! The friendliest host I have ever met. Breakfast was delicious. John baked their own bread and Erica prepared the breakfast (you can choose French toast, scrambled egg, egg Benedict, etc). The room itself was really clean and comfortable. Two cute cats. They have EV charger, where John would be more than happy to assist.

Amazing host Erica and chef John - breakfast food above and beyond any hotel fare , rooms warm and homely . Already recommended to family and friends to put on their go to list - beautiful residence to use as base to travel back and forth across wild atlantic way . Westport 10 mins drive and Achill 20mins drive other way |

The property was very well maintained, clean and had a lovely eclectic decor. Some retro furnishings and lovely books. A very interesting b&b. The house and grounds are really very beautiful. The hens add lovely character too. Their eggs were tasty. I don't think they missed anything. There's an EV charging port too. Breakfast was just a lovely experience and the shower was the best😍

Lovely old house tastefully extended with fabulously interesting items on display, old phone, old tv etc. it was great to have the coffee machine in the room and fresh milk in the fridge. Breakfast was lovely with a beautiful selection of home made bread.

Erica was very welcoming and accommodating from the very beginning. The location is beautiful with the friendly hens in the back garden. Breakfast was 11/10, everything fresh and homemade. We wish we could have tried more from the appetising menu.

The room was beautiful, the attention to detail in decorations and equipment amazed me. The bunk bed was a highlight for the little one. The breakfast is the best I ever had in a B&B with loads of homemade food. Erica was very welcoming, from preparing the fireplace every day to tailoring the breakfast to my upset stomach’s needs on the last day.
