Exceptional hospitality and the breakfast is something to die for! Definitely a great experience on it's own. It exceeded our expectations, also everything was spotless. This place is really special and a great location for different trips around western Ireland!

Stayed here for my second year in a row with some friends and just like last year everything exceeded our expectations. Rachel looked after us as always and put on an incredible home baked breakfast with everything you could imagine. The location is idyllic overlooking the river and only a few hundred metres into the quaint village of Cong, which has a great selection of local gastro pubs. Will be back again next year!

Salmon Weir Lodge offers the best accommodation in Cong. The Lodge is beautiful and has a stunning seating area by the Weir to enjoy in the good weather. The beds are extremely comfortable, rooms very spacious and the shower is perfect. Rachel puts on an amazing spread for breakfast, mixing it up every morning with freshly prepared baked goods, fruit, yogarts and so much more. A wonderful host, a delightful stay. We'll be sure to return and recommend Salmon Weir Lodge to our friends.

We liked everything.

We were attending my daughter's wedding. Rachel was extremely kind and accommodating regarding coming and going at different times and the breakfast selection is wonderful and tasty The house is beautiful and very clean. We honestly can't fault anything.

We loved everything about our stay. We've stayed in very good hotels all around the world that really don't match up to what Rachael has managed to build here. The design and decor is so warm and welcoming, it's immaculately clean, it's in an amazing location which makes it perfect for days trips and the gem on top is Rachael's hospitality. Plenty of food for breakfast, plenty of parking and even a place for us to store our bikes. It's a 5 minute walk into town and a small walk to Ashford Castle and other local sights. It really was a perfect stay and very good value for money.

The host was Rachael very kind, the room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. Cong is a charming village at the gates of the Connemara where you can find restaurants, bars, a beautiful forest to walk in. It is also famous for the movie The Quiet Man. To sum up it was a perfect stay.

This property was one of the best we have stayed in in this village. It was clean , comfortable and warm. The host, Rachel , was super friendly and provided a delicious breakfast both mornings.  There is also a hot drinks station for guests to use and a comfortable lounge where you can sit and watch TV. Rachel was kind enough to make us a pot of tea on arrival and gave us delicious cake to eat with it.

The high bed with too many cushions

The breakfast was outstanding, large range of fresh fruits, juices, cereals, savoury tarts, hot if required, quality pastries. The views from our windows upstairs over the garden & trees. The stone fence in the yard was on the edge of the river with ducks swimming around. The hostess was generous with the use of her sitting room.

At our 20th trip to Ireland, we found ourselves staying at the Salmon Weir Lodge in Cong, and the experience was excellent. Our hostess, Rachael, provided a warm welcome that immediately made us feel at home. Her friendliness stood out, enhancing the quality of our stay. The rooms were both clean and tastefully decorated. The furnishings were comfortable, giving the space a homey feel. The common area also met our expectations. It featured comfortable seating and a pleasing atmosphere, serving as an inviting space to relax after a day of exploring the surrounding area. Unlike some places that offer a standard or limited range of options regarding the breakfast, the Salmon Weir Lodge went above and beyond. The Irish Breakfast casserole for example was a delightful touch that set this place apart from the average bed-and-breakfast. I still need to ask for the recipe. ;) In addition to the physical amenities, we enjoyed the social aspect of our stay. We found ourselves engaged in enjoyable and meaningful conversations with other guests, both during breakfast and in the evenings. These interactions added a layer of richness to our experience, making our stay more than just a simple lodging arrangement. Overall, we were more than satisfied with our time at the Salmon Weir Lodge. The attention to detail, the quality of service, and the exceptional amenities make this place highly recommendable. Her thoughtfulness in packing some breakfast for me when I had to leave at 6 am made my early morning departure so much more convenient and enjoyable. Lovely fragrence and feel of the room. Like being at home. Massive morning spread of food. Rachel had great food recomendations and even got us last minute reservations.
